Home My Public Portal About2009-28 Authorizing the Village Manager to apply for the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program GrantRESOLUTION NO. 2009-28 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO APPLY FOR THE FEDERAL DRUG CONTROL AND SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM GRANT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE MIAMI- DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES; TO APPLY FOR, RECEIVE, EXPEND GRANT FUNDS, EXECUTE AND AMEND AGREEMENTS RELATED TO THE GRANT; FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A RECORD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. WHEREAS, grant funds ( the "Grant") are available from the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program through Miami -Dade County Department of Human Services ( the "County") . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That the above stated recital is adopted and confirmed. Section 2. Authorization. A. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village Manager to apply to Miami - Dade County for the above described Grant funds in the approximate amount of $3,882.00. B. That the Village Council authorizes the Village Manager to execute such contracts and agreements as are required for the Grant, subject to approval as to form and legal sufficiency by the Village Attorney. C. That the Village Council authorizes the Village Manager to expend any and all Grant monies received for the purpose described in the funding request; to receive and expend any additional funds that might become available during the term of the Grant; to file and execute necessary amendments to the Grant application for and on behalf of the Village of Key Biscayne, Miami -Dade County, Florida; and to exercise amendment, modification, renewal, cancellation and termination clauses of any contracts and agreements directly related to the Grant on behalf of the Village of Key Biscayne, and to take all action necessary to implement the Grant and this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of November , 2009. CONCHITA H.
