Indiana, met in • regular session at the office of said Board Thursday August 26th; 1926, at 9 o ' clock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present . The followi.gg proceedings were had, to-wit : I/ ' The City Civil Engineer was directed to prepare plans etc . , for improving Southwest 9th Street , by cement sidewalks, curb & gutter grading and paving the roadway with surface treated macadam, from Main to Southwest " A" Street. The Board net to hear eemonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed on account of improvement of West. Main Street, by construdi ing cement sidewalks on south side of Street , from Southwest 8th to llth Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 788-1926. No one remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirm- ing the original assessment roll as heretofore approved. And now direct the same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance. The Board met to. hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily (assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 789-1926, for construct- • ing cement sidewalks on both sides of Richmond Avenue, from Sheri- dan Street to West 5th Street, except where already laid in cement . No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll con- firming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted to the Department of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 802-1926, for construct- ing cement curb on both sides of Main Street where needed, from nth to 5th Street . No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment roll as hereto- fore approved. And now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the epartment of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.8O8-1926, for improvement of alley between South 7th & 8th Street, by constructing cement roadway from South "H" to "J" Street . re monstrating,No one r'e:nons�ra,�ing, the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore annroved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance. The Board approved a primary assessment roll of benefits and damages under Declaratory Resolution No. 197-1926, providing for the vaca- tion of a part of Crosshall Street , Green Street and the alley be- tween Crosshall and Green Street , from Grant Street South. The Board accept " Traffic Lights" on trial, to be installed at intersections of North & South gth Street with North and .South "A" • Streets , Light Plant instructed to install the same for said trial. 392 Thursday August 26th, 1926. Upon the recommendation of Fire Chief, The Board appointed Charles W. Bostick as a fireman in the Fire Department . A claim in amount of 07.15 for- work done at Davis Park by Richmond Plumbing Store, was referred to Street Commissioner Lyons, with instructions to have Telegraph Company, pay said claim as they had verbally agreed with him to do. D. C. Ness, Sup 't . , of Light Plant , again called the attention of the Board to the condition existing at City Crematory, stating that the manner in which the garbage is handled is a nuisance and a menace to health of the employees at the plant , the communication was referred to J . Mulroney, custo- dian at Crematory. The mat-ter of the way the garbage is being handled by George aube contractor for removing same from Crematory, was refer- red to City Attorney, for an opinion as to what could be done to relieve conditions. • Claims in amount of 020,991. 76 were allowed. The Building Inspector, was instructed to notify the Board before issuing permit for erection of buildings on corner lots. • • The- Board then adjourned,® • P:7.,st . of Board. • Attest : • Clerk of Board
