The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office. of said Board, Monday August 23rd,. 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board • Messrs, Land., McFail and Henley being present . The follot.ring proceedings were had, to-wit.:- • The Board awarded the contract for furnishing coal to City Hall Hose houses, Detention Hospital and Glen Miller park, to the . Shera Coal 8: Supply Co. , a't prices named in bid received Thurs- day August 19th, 1926. Permission was granted W.R.Maddex, to cut tie' curb at 31a North 3rd Street , for driveway to his premises. After some discussion, the Board again take up Declaratory Reso- lution No.. 198-1926, for widening Grant Street from Sheridan to Ridge Street., on motion, the resolution was unanimously rescinded. and the Engineer directed to prepare plans and resolution for • improving Grant Street, by constructing cement sidewalks 51 wide curb & gutter on both sides thereof, making the roadway 30fOOt wide, specifying in plans, that the contractor is to take up the bowldered gutter fill with gravel and roll the street , at • expense of property owners, from Bridge .Ave, to Ridge Street . Street Commissioner was directed to place Stop signs at east & . west side of North 19th Street on New Paris Pike, using thecind of signs used by State Highway Commission. The Board awarded contract to E. A. Ilarianito repair the sewer in alley between North 12th & 13th Street, f om North "H" to 11J" Street, using cement sidewalk slabes at the bottom of pipe where necessary 0 $6. 00 linear foot , extra filling . 50 cu-yard. The Board directed Finance Department to pay John F. Hipskind 5% retained under Improvement Resoluton No. 760-1925.- 176.05 The Clerk vas directed to notify <unicipal Post Company to either repair their posts or remove the same from the streets by , September 30th, 1926. The Clerk .was directed to prepare a resolution and present the same to council for action, requesting the Judge of "ayne Circuit Court to appoint appraisers to appraise Motorcycle, pilot Auto- • mobile of Police Department, and the davis Automobile used by Fire Chief, with a view to selling- the same and purchasing new cars & motorcycle .
