Thursday August 19th,1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at -the office of said Board Thursday August 19th
1926, at 9 o 'clock A. Ma All the members of said Board Messrs, Land,
McFall and Henley being present. The following. proceedings were had,
to.-wito
A petition for water main and fire protection in South " 0" Street
from South 9th to 13th Street, was received and referred to Fire
Chief for investigation and report.
A petition signed by Harry Steinbrink, for sanitary sewer in the
alley between South 7th & 8th Street, from South "L" to "N" Street
was received, and referred to City Engineer for report as to outlet.
Complaints received at last session of council were received.
. The Board awarded contract to A.F,M.Band for concert in Glen Miller
Park, Sunday August 22nd, 1926, 20 pieces at $82.00.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 813-1926,
for the improvement of the alley between South l--th & 15th Street
by constructing cement roadway, from South "B11 to " C" Street ,
The City Engineer reported the completion of contracts, and the Board
accepted same, and approved a primary assessment as follows,viz :
Improvement Resolution No® 805-1926, for construction of cement
sidewalks on both sides of South "F" Street, from South 9th to llth
Street;
Improvement Resolution No.809-1926, for improvement of alley between
South lath & 15th Street, by constructing cement roadway, from South
"A" to "B" Street.

The Board r•edeived communication from Ohio Rock Asphalt Co. , signed
by Harry S. Marshall, Engineer, for said . company, in part as follows :
I am sure that the repairing of the brick pavements you are now
starting will be satisfactory in every way and have no hesitancy in
guaranteeing our material for this type of work. I propose to help
your Engineering Department and Street Commissioner do this work and
am sure that they are competent in every way to give you a satisfact-
ory job.
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily as-
sessed under Improvement Resolution No. 784-1925, for construction of
a sanitary sewer in alley between South 8th & 9th Street, from South
"L11 to "irT'.° Street . No one appearing or remonstrating. The Board ap- ,
proved a final assessment roll confirming the original assessment
roll heretofore aptroved. And now direct the same be forthwith trans-
mitted to the Department of Finance. ,
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily as-
sessed under Improvement Resolution No. 785-1925. for construction of
sewer between Garden Ave, & South 6th Street, from 1st alley south
of South "E" Street to C. & 0. R.R..track . No one appearing or remon-
strating; The Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the
original assessment roll .heretofore approVed. And now' direct the
same be forthwith transmitted to the Department of Finance®

The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, .of persons primar-
ily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 804-1926, for • the
construction of sanitary sewer for benefit of the territory south
of Linden Avenue to Northwest 5th Street . No one appearing or
remonstrating/ The Board approved a final assessment roll confirm-
ing the original assessment roll heretofore approved. And now
direct the same be transmitted ' forthwith to the Department of
Finance.
Whereas. it is desired by the Standard Oil Co . , to .change the lo-
cation of fire hydrant at Sheridan St . and Richmond Ave . - on ac-
count of erection of filling station at this point ; The Clerk was
directed to notify said company to dedicate a triangular strip
of ground 3 feet north on Sheridan Street and 3 feet west on Rich-
mond Ave . for place of setting hydrant, as the city cannot lo-
cate public fire hydrant other than on city property. -
The following agreement was received as follows, to-wit
The undersigned, Western Oil Refining Company and Luke M. Gentle
• hereby agree to the foliating!
If the City of Richmond will
promptly issue all necessary permits and approval of the construct
ion of' a driveway entering our property, at the corner of Eighth
and South A Streets, the driveway on South "A" Street side to be
constructed like our blue print except that side driveway on South •
"A" Street side is to start a graduel slope from the center of the
sidewalk extending out to the curb line, we will agree that in the
event the City of Richmond, Indiana, should, within the life of the
present lease between us, widen South"A" Street and such widening
should make it necessary for the City to take any or all of the grass .
plot on the South"A" Street side of our property, being the ground
between the present curb and the present sidewalk, we will not hold
the City of Richmond liable for any damages for taking any or all
of said grass plot and will not hold the City of Richmond liable for
any damages, occassi.on,ed by such widening, and will construct all ap-
proaches tocon•fOru:-with the widening of street .

The Board approved the above agreement, and directed the Build-
ing Inspector, to issue necessary permits.
The Board examined the blue prints of plans for construction of
Theatre building by The Remley Realty Corporation on north side
of iiain Street east of bth. Street, as to canopy over entrance,
and-find nO objection to same, and directed the Building Inspect-
or to issue building permit for said construction.
The Board received bids for furnishing coal to the City of Rich-
mond as follows, to-wit :
"Shera Coal & Supply Co. , bid:
165 tons Pocahontas R O' M to be delivered at City Building and
No. 2 8_ '5 hose houses-- Q -- }5.51 per ton
40 tons Wilburn Pocahontas Lirlp to be delivered at No. 3 and 4
