City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday August 16th, 1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday August 16th
1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit : •
The Board directed the Finance Department , to nay 5% retained under
Improvement Resolutions named as follows, to-wit :
" Resolution No. 777-1925, Z. B. Pyle & Co . , 5% retained-0238.E-I-9
" Resolution No. , 772-1925, John F. Hipskind, 5% retained-0 79.07.
The Building Inspector was directed to superintend the remodeling
of No. 5 hose House.
Upon the recommendation of Mr. D. C. Hess, Sup 't . , of M.E.L.& P .P.
the Board awarded contracts as follows, for ton motor driven
truck complete, to -International Harvester Co, net price-85413.31.
To Chenoweth Auto Company, for 1926 Buick, 4 pas. coupe- 01300.00.
The Clerk was directed to request Western Oil Refining Co. , to
have representatives with power- to act, meet with them Thursday
August 19th, ]926, 9 A.M.
The Clerk teas directed to again notify George Taube, to remedy
the manner in which he is hauling the garbage from crematory.
The Fire Chief was directed to place fire alarm wires in conduit
in South "A" Street, from alley west of South 16th to 22nd Street .
The Board grant permission to Sam Jaffe, to use a strip of North
10th Street, -north of Pensy.Railroad, in connection with the load-
- ing & unloading scrap metals & junk. said Jaffe to enclose same
with a good & substantial board enclosure, to permit no bills to
be• painted -or placed thereon, it is understood upon notice being
given, the said. Jaffe agrees to remove all property he may have
on said ground & to remove any & all obstructionp or fences he
may place thereon & leave the ground in the same condition it is
new in, uppon receipt of notice so to do from the Board of Public
- Works. (See agreement ) .

Permission was granted Mrs.E.Locier to construct cement curb &
gutter on South " F" Street, along Lot 20, Abijah Jones , Sub-Div. ,
Claims in amount of w4017.37 were allowed,payrolls to Aug. 16th
were approved.
The Board then adjourned,
