The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office. of said Board Monday August 9th 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFai l and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :- Contractors certificates were granted as follows, to-wit.: Certificate No. 20, Resolution 709, Z.B.Pyle & Co.-- $3, 245.02 Certific• ate No. 29, Resolution 799,W. L. Magaw,---- $2, 646.26 The Building Inspector was authorized to issue permit for the erection of gasoline filling station at N.W. corner of South 8th & "A" Streets, provided, the owner sets back the curbs to widen Street at this point, curb to be laid at 15 ' radius, change the light, re-set inlet and construct necessary paving and work nec- essary in change at intersection at his oncost, and no expense of any nature to the city. • The Street Commissioner was- directed to open ditch on south side _ of South -"L" Street west of 8th Street ; also to remove the old horse drinking fountain at South 8th & "E" Street and erect sani- tary drinking fountain instead. The Board approved primary assessment rolls under resolutions named, viz : Improvement Resolution No. 78 1926, cement sidewalks . south side of W.Main from 8th to llth Street ; Improvement Reso- lution No. 789-1926, cement sidewalks both sides of Richmond Ave. Sheridan to West 5th Street; Improvement Resolution No. 802-1926, Cement curb both sides Main Street where needed from 4th to 5th Street ; Improvement Resolution : No. 808-1926, Cement roadway in al- ley between South 7th & 8th Street , from South "H" to "J" Street . The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 811-1926 for construction of Sanitary Sewer• in alley between Hunt & Ratliff Street, from School to Stevens Street. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.812-1926, for improvement of South " I" Street; by constructing^tin cement side- walks 5 ' wide, curb, gutter,planting of trees on both sides and grading and paving the roadway with surface treated macadam, from South 9th to 13th Street. Upon the report of City Attorney in matter of widening of West Main Street on north side of street between 5th & 6th Street, ground dedicated by Levi Miller & Wife, was accepted. (See page 379, July 29, 1926, for dedication) . The Board received -bids for city legal advertising, as follows : Richmond Item, . 590 per hundred words, each insertion; Richmond Palladium, . 63 1st insertion; 600 additional insertion of same copy.
