Thursday August 5th, 1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday August 5th,
1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. Messrs, Land and Henley being present .
Mr. McFail, being absent . Two members of said Board being present
the following proceedings -were had, to-wit :-

he Board approved the contract & bond of Arthur Thomas, contractor
for the remodeling of Number 5 Hose House, specifying that Hot Water
Heating system -with Prox -Boilers be installed at -an additional cost

of $160.00, making the contract price $9919. 75 instead of $9759. 75.
The Board received petition for construction of a sanitary sewer in
the alley between Ratliff & Hunt Street, from School to Stevens St .
and order plans & resolution prepared.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 810--1926,
for the improvement of South "J" Street, by constructing cement side-
walks, curb & mutters, planting trees •on both sides of street, con-
structing storm water sewer and grading and paving the roadway with
surface treated macadam, from South 9th to 13th Street .
A communication was received from G.J.Derbyshire, Sup 't . of C. & 0.
Railway Company, stating that the flasher signal system ordinance
did not mention South "G" Street . The Clerk was directed to notify
Mr. Derbyshire, that this was evidently an oversight on the part of
council, and for the company to prepare for system to include South
" G" Street, as they would request Council to pass a supplemental
ordinance specifying said. "G" Street .
A communication was received from Dr.L. F.Ross Medical Sup 't . , of
Eastern Indiana Hospital for -the Insane, :n regarding a misunder-
standing between the Richmond City Water Works and the Hospital in
matter of 12" hater main laid in East Haven Avenue. The Clerk was
directed to notify the Richmond City Water Works, that the Eastern
Indiana Hospital for the Insane, where to pay the difference between
• an 8" and 12" water main from Peacock Road to the Railroad tracks,
the City to pay rental charged on the basis of g" line .
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 802-1926, for cement curb both sides of
Main St . from -i-th to 5th Street.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
. Improvement Resolution No.808-1926, for cement road in alley between
South 7th. & 8th Street, from South "H" to "J" Street.
Claims in amount of $19, 185,-75, were allowed. •
The Board then adjourned,
