374 - City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday July 12th, 1926. •
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday July 12th,
1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :-
In matter of claim of Hiatt 's Garage, for repairs to automobile
damaged by Fire Department in responding to an alarm of fire owned
by Benj . Burr, in sum of $51000, was referred to City Attorney for
report as to liability of city in the case. -
A report of dismissal of Cause 8206 before Public Service Commis-
sion of Indiana, in matter of petition of Richmond Light,Heat &
Power Co. , for re-valuation was received and filed.
The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 797-1926,
for improvement of SW.'"C"" St. by cement sidewalks, curb & gutter &
grading & paving roadway with "surface treated macadam, from SW.4th
St . to College Avenue, as follows to-wit :
" W. L. Magaw, bid;
Street Complete $12. 60 per linear foot .
The above being the only bid received & being within the estimate
of the engineer, the contract was awarded to W. L. Magaw.
The Board approved contract & bonds of contractors under improvements.
as named, to-wit : Improvement Resolution No.. 8O8-1926, Daniel G.
Burkhardt; Improvement Resolution No. 809-19.26, Z. B . Pyle.
The City Engineer was instructed to notify the Home Telephone Co. ,
to remove their pole in 'the street at NW. corner of West 5th & Main
Streets and re-locate said pole.
The Board enter into contract with Greenville Band, for two concerts
to be held in Glen Miller, to-wit :- Sunday- July 18 and August lst .
1926. at $100.00 per concert or day.
The Clerkmas directed to ask for bids for newspaper advertising from
Daily newspapers, under specifications suggested by committee here-
tofore reported on, except, that not smaller than 6 point type may
be used instead of 7-point as suggested. (See page 373) .
Claims in amount of $51-1-16. 5 - were allowed.
Contractors certificate NO. 26, in sum of $3 -77.35, was granted to
W.L.Magaw contractor under Resolution No.792-1926, SW.5th St .
The Board then adjourned,
