HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-28-1926 • Office of Board of Public Works 365 City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday \June 28th,1926. • The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,.. met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 28th, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit :- The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 786=1926, for improvement of alley between North llth & 12th Street by . constructing cement roadway from North "A" Street to 1st alley north of Main Street. The Board approved a primary 'assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 803-1926, for improvement of alley between Tract 166 Of. Map, City, and . Lot 1, R. Morrisons, Add. , running from Main Street north to lst alley running east to North 2nd Street, (Cement) . The Board was directed to write the Wayne County Board of Commission- ers, to ascertain what if anything has been done by said Commissioners_ in matter of Happy Hollow and Main Street bridges. The Board received bids for painting the buildings two coats of paint • at the Detention Hospital grounds, consisting of the following bldgs_. Care takers residence; Detention Hospital; Coal & Storage building; Garage and toilet, including meteal roofs gutters all necessary glazing, puttying, etc . , to bring the work up to a first class job, furnishing all materials and labor as follows, to-wit :- Medearis, Frame and Bostick, bid; Furnishing materials & labor $183.00; city furnish paint de.435. " Fred S. Wickett, bid; All materials & labor----$183.00; or the labor only for $120.00. " 011ie L. Mains, bid; • Furnish all materials, labor, etc . , $218.00. Furnish tools and labor only $150.00 Jas. S. Logan, bid; • Furnish all materials and labor $290.45. The .Board. award said contract to Medearis, Frame and Bostick, to furnish all tools, materials and labor at price submitted. The Board received bids for. legal advertising for the year ending June 30, 1927, as follows,. to-wit : " The Richmond Item, bid; First insertion .500 per innch.' additional--.-I-30 per inch, lines 6 w. " The Richmond' Palladium, bid; First insertion 500 additional insertions-460 per inch, same copy. The Palladium claiming their columns are wider than Item, the Board takes bids under advisement. •••! The Board issued contractors certificates to Z. B. Pyle Co. , in the following amounts, to-wit; Resolution 785-$2583.. 59; . 787-$1146.50 and 789-$1447.49. • Complaint is received of manure box -in alley north of Linden Ave, between Ridge & Hunt Street, not having any cover over the same referred to Sanitary Inspector. 366 Monday June 28, 1926. The Board authorize the transfer of Lot No. 35 A. Moffitts Addition, for 60ft. of east end of Lot No. 42, same addition to and from Anna Jones, unmarried. Whereas, A.s .the emergency exists for the immediate purchase of Cast iron pipe and certain valves for use under ground at the spray pond, the Board received proposals for furnish- ing of said pipe & valves as follows : James B. Clow & Sons, bid; B .S.below-Spiral above-Non R. S.Valves, Galv. pipe--$12, 820.83 Crane Co . , bid; B. Sbelow-Spiral above-Non R. S.Valves, &alv.pipe---$15, 590. -2 'the bid of James B.
