HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-21-1926 , Office of Board :of Public Works, 361 City of Richmond, Indiana, Monday-June 21st, 1926. _ The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in - regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 21st, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : *I/ The Board met to hear all persons interested under Declaratory Reso- lution No. .196-1926, for condemnation of right-of-way for sewer south of Linden Avenue, across Lot 6, Poe & Lyndes Out-Lots and Lot 18, Knollenberg & Kempers, Addition. After hearing all persons interested who appeared, the Board continued hearing on same until an agreement promised by the Pensy. Railroad Co. , was received or rejedted. The Board met to hear all persons interested or -whose property is af- fected under Improvement Resolution No. 808-1926, for improvement of alley between South 7th & 8th Street, by constructing a cement road- way the full width thereof, from South "H"' to "J" Street. After hear- ing all persons interested who appeared. The Board decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer.And thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. . The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is af- fected under Improvement Resolution No. 809-1926, for improvement of alley between South 14th & 15th Street, by constructing a cement road- way the full width thereof, from South "A" to "13" Street. After hear- ing all persons interested who appeared. The Board decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer And thereupon take action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 766-1925, for the furnishing & planting of trees on South 19th Street, from South "B" Street to Reeveston Road. The Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 793-1926, for improvement of alley between South 7th & 8th Street, by constructing cement roadway from South "G" to "H" ' Street. The same was accepted, and primary assessment roll approved. The Board approved primary assessment roll under Improvement Resolu- - tion No.. 795-1926,' for improvement of the alley between South 9th & II 10th Street, by constructing cement roadway from South "E" to "F" Street. The Board authorized M. E. L. & P. P. to have the Chesepiake & Ohio Railroad Company, repair the trestle at the light plant coal bins at not to exceed their estimated cost of $1160.50. The Board direct the Clerk to request D. C.Hess Sup 't . Light Plant to investigate as to price of paint spraying machine, for use of painting city property and marking of streets and report to Board 36? Monday June 21st, 1926. The Board received bids for the removal of garbage from the bins at ,Cityls Crematory as follows, to-wit : " Geamge Taube, bid; Remove under contract for 4 years at $3, 500.00 for the 4 years. " L. B. Campbell, bid; - Remove for one year at price of .31,000.00, with the privilege of four years at the same price per year. - Thos. R. Ryan, bid; emove for one year at price of $1,000.00 - The Board take all bids under advisement, until Thursday June 24th, 1926, and request the Clerk to notify George Taube to appear before the Board for conference on his bid. Permission was granted Dafler-Moser Co. , to cut the curb at 276 Ft-Wayne Avenue. The Board directd the Finance Department to pay to E. A. Mariani contractor under Improvement Resolution No. 747-1924 , the sum of $107.29, the reserve -maintained under said contract . The Board award a contract for Six Band concerts to be held in • Glen Miller Park beginning Sunday June 27th, 1926, weather per- mitting, to American Federation of Musicians band. for the sum of $l 92.00. Permission was granted to the Committee to hold the 14-th of �'uly celebration in Glen Miller Park, also to run their rides, etc. , on July 3rd, 4th & 5th, 1926, and Clerk was directed to notify E. E. Eggemeyer Chairman. The Clerk was directed to prepare an appropriation ordinance for amount necessary to purchase new pumping engine and remodel No. 5 hose house, upon receipt of estimate of architects Werking & Son. • The Board then adjourned, Pre t.
