The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the officeof said Board Monday May 24th, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land, Mc-. Fail, and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit:-petition for improvement of alley betweenSouth 14th & 15th Street by cement roadway, from South "A" to "B" Street, was referred to 1/ Engineering Department for investigation and reports The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 804-1926, for the construct. ion of Sanitary Sewer,Between Linden Avenue and P.C.C.& St.L. R.T . No one appearing or remonstrating, th.e Board decide that the bene- fits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and there-- upon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed wittcout modification. The Board received bids for improvement under .Improvement Resolution No.799-1926, for constructing cement curb,gutter, repairing sidewalks planting trees and paving roadway with surface treated macadam in -South 15th Street, from South "E" to "G" Street, as follows: " W.L.Magaw,b id; Street complete--$8.70 lin-ft.sidewalk, .25¢ sq-ft . trees $5.00 each " J. L. Teegarden bid; Street complete--$10.90 lin-ft . sidewalk--.29¢ sq-ft. " Z. B. Pyle Company, bid; Street complete-- 11.45 lin-ft. sidewalk-.25¢sq-ft . trees-$7.00 each For action on bids, see below: The Boarcb received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 80O-1926, for improvement of South 14th Street, by constructing cement curb,gut ter, repair sidewalks, planting trees and surfacing the roadway with surface treated macadam, from South "E" to "G" Street,as follows: " W. L. Magaw, bid; Street complete--49.90-lin-ft. sidewalk-.25¢ sq-ft. trees-$5.00 each "J.L.Teegarden,bid; Street complete-- 9.95 lin-foot; sidewalks- .250 sq-foot. " Z. B. Pyle Company, bid; Street complete- $10.63-lin-ft. sidewalks-.25¢sq-ft.trees-$1.10¢each Whereas, W. L. Magaw, in making his bids, got them mixed in the envelopes, his bid for 14th Street, should have been 15th Street and vice versa, Mr. Pyle objecting to his -making proper corrections, the bid was thoown out, and a�l other bids being above the estimate, all I/ bids were thrown out and Jerk instructed to re-advertise. The Engineer was directed to prepare plans and order Rock Asphalt to repair North "D" Street, from Bridge to Ft-Wayne Ave. and said Ave. from North "D" Street to east side of intersection of North 8th and "E" Streets, repairs to be made by Street Department under the supervision of Engineering Department. Engineer directed to prepare plans to widen Southwest 1st Street, 5' on east side from Main St. to National Road. (See next page) 352 Monday May 21th, 1926. The Board directed the Richmond City Water Works, to place a fire hydrant at South 13th & "L" Street. The Clerk was directed to notify Building Inspector, to prepare an estimate of the cost of remodeling the No. 5 Hose House. The Clerk was directed to notify the Richmond City Water Works, and Richmond Light, Heat & Power Co. , of the intention of the City to repair North "D" Street and Fort Wayne Ave, from Doran Bridge to east side of North 8th & "E" Street, and if eitherI/ company had any work or repairs to make to their mains in these sgreets to have same attended to before the city begins on said repairs.
