The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of said Board Monday May 17th,. 1926 at 9 o1clack A. M. All the members of said Board being present, Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley, the following proceedings were had, to-wit :- I/ The Board met of hear remonstrances, if any, of persons primarily assessed for benefits and damages awarded in matter of widening of South 9th Street on east side thereof, from South "L" to "Q" treet under Declaratory Resolution No.1911--1926. Mr. Will Reller Attorney ' presented the following remonstrance; We, the undersigned, being the owners of property situate along South 9th Street, hereby remonstrat against the benefits and damages assessed by your Board for the widening of said street under DeclaratorybResolution No.194-1926. We would show that the benefits assessed respectively to each of the undersigned owners are to high, and the damages are to low. We respectfully pray- a modification of such awards heretofore made by your Board. After some discussion on the remonstrance, the Board agreed to visit the site of said widening Thursday May 20, 1926, and contin- ued hearing on said assessment roll, until May 27th, 1926. 9 O8clIck A.M. A petition was, received for construction of sanitary sewer in the alley between South 8th & 9th Street, from South"M" to C.& O.Ry. tracks, referred to Engineer. The Board unanimously approved Improvement Resolution No. 805.1926 for the improvement of South "F" Street, by cement sidewalk's on both sides from South 9th toallth Street. The. Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 806-1926, for improvement of alley between North 10th & llth Street, by con- structing cement roadway, from North "B11 to " 0" Street. • Fire Chief E.E.Miller; reported that in making call to Automotive Gear Works in response to alarm of fire 3.40 P.M. on May l4th, 1926, The number 4 Hose truck struck and damaged a touring car parked in South 8th Street below "L" Street, owned:by Benjamin Burr,neither party was to blame for said accident, which was caused by street being wet and slippery. The Engineer was directed to issue permit to Fry & Pohlmeyer to dig into South 6th Street to tap water main at No. 540 & 542'. The Board approved the various payrolls to May 16th, 1926.
