Thursday March 25th, 1926.
The Board" of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday March 25th
1926, at 9 o 'cllck A. M. All the members -of -said Board Messrs, Land,
MaFail and Henley, being present : The folllwing proceedings were
had, to-wit :-
The Board met to hear all persons interested in or whose property
is affedted under Improvement Resolution No. 796-1926, for the im-'
provement of the alley between South 4th & 5th Street, by conetruct-
ing cement roadway, from South '"A" to "B" Street . After hearing all
persons interested who appeared and no valid remonstrance having
been filed. The Board decides that the benefits to -the property li-
able to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of
same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes
final action the resolution being confirmed without modification.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 797-1926,
for the improvement of Southwest "0" Street, by constructing ce-
ment sidewalk 5 ' wide, curb & gutter and planting trees on both
. sides thereof, and grading and paving the roadway with surface trea-
ted macadam; from Southwest 4th Street to College Avenue.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 798-1926,
-for the ithprovement of Ridge Street , by ,constructing cement curb &
gutter on both sides thereof, and grading & xiav ing the roadway with
one of the modern city pavements, to-wit :- Brick ; Concrete; Sheet-
Asphalt or Rock Ast}aalt, from State to School Street .
The Board received com: unication from R. B. Jones, requesting that
the old brick sidewalk on east side of South 15th Street, from Main
to South - "A" Street, be re-laid. The Board direct the Clerk to noti-
fy Mr. Jones, that the west sidewalk . is in as bad Condition as the
walk on the east side, and that it would be money thrown away to .
re-lay the old brick walk ' and coTtrary to precedent heretofore es-
tablished i . e. to always improve said sidewalks by constructing ce-
ment sidewalk which would be of less expense to the property owners,
and refuse to grant the request to have said brick walk re-laid. .
Charles Hackman, was granted permission thru contractor W.Bendfeldt ,
to tap private water main of the city 's in South "j" Street between
South 7th & 8th Street.
A petition signed by Edward. Aall & 5 others, requesting gas main
in. Southwest 5th Street from SW. "C" to "E" Street , before street
is paved, referred to Gas Company.
The Board then adjourned,
