Monday March 8th, 1926.
r • The Board of Public Worksrof the• City of Richmond, Indiana, met-
in regular session at the office of said. Board Monday March 8th,
1926, at 9 o 'cllck A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs,
Wand, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit :- .

The City Civil Engineer reported in matter of rremonstran_ce filed
against the improvement of Richmond Avenue, by constructing cement
sidewalks on both sides thereof, from Doran Bridge to West 5th Street
except where cement sidewalks in good condition is already laid
under Improvement Resolution No. 789-1926, that there are 77 resi-
dent property owners residing along the line of said improvement
' 37 of whom have signed the remonstrance. The Board decide that the
. . "benefits to the property liable to be assessed for the cost of said
improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City
_ Civil Engineer and the remonstrance being in the minority, the board
' confirmed said resolution, and Whereas there are several joint own-
ers residing on said improvement one of whon such joint owners hav •
-
ing signed .the remonstrance, the Board deem it fair that the resole=
tion be referred to the Cora :.on Council for action, recommending that
said improvement be made. -
Upon the advice of the City Attorney, the Clerk was instructed by the
Board to prepare an assessment. roll of benefits & damages in matter
of condemning right of way for sanitary sewer thru the property be-
tween South 6th Street an4 Garden Avenue from 1st alley south of South
"Ef° Street to the C.& O.Railroad, as provided for under Declaratory
Resolution No. 195-1926.- -
The Board directed the Fire Chief to immediately have installed a
220 gallon range water tank in city building for use of Fire Dept . ,
bath room to take the place of the tank worn out, at a- cost of
$125.00 plus $10.00 for labor, as this is deemed an emergency the
Board award the contract to The Richmond Plumbing Store.
