The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February 25th, 1926, at 9 o 'cllck .A. M. Messrs, Land and McFall being pres- ent. Mr. Henley, absent; two members of said Board being present the following proceedings were had, to-wit :- The Board received petition for improvement of the. alley between South 4th & 5th Street, by constructing cement roadway, from South "A" to UB" Street, referred to Engineer for investigation and plans. , - - I/ The Board received bids for the construction of sanitary sewer to improve the property between Southwest 1st Street and White- water Boulevard, under Improvement Resolution No. 787-1926, as folllws, to-wit : " Z. B. Pyle & Co. , bid; Sewer complete $2. 4 per lin-ft . " John F. Hipskind, bid; Sewer complete 43.19 per lin-ft. " Connor, Bearly & Jinks, bid; Sewer complete 43.31 per lin-ft. 1° E. A. Mariani & Co. , bid; Sewer complete $3.3 - per lin-ft . The bid of Z. B. Pyle & Co. , being the lowest and within the estimate of City Civil Engineer, the contract was awarded to the . Z. B. Pyle and Co. , A petition signed by Sam Fred & 33 other business men and property owners, declaring sparrows roosting in the eaves of buildings to be a public nuisance and a menace to property, requesting the Board of Works to take steps to eliminate the same, placed on file for investigation as to what remedy will eliminate the conditions.
