Monday February 8th, 1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday February
8th, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board,
Messrs, Land, McFall and Henley being present. The following pro-
ceedings were had, to-wit:
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 78S-1926
to improve West Main Street, by constructing a cement sidewalk & 1/.
planting of trees on the south side thereof, from Southwest 8th
to llth Street.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 789-1926
to improve Richmond Avenue, by constructing cement sidewalks 6'
wide on both sides of street, except where cement sidewalk in good
condition already exists, from Doran Bridge to West 5th Street.
The Board upon recommendation of Mr. Hess, order electric light
at Crosshall and School Streets.
The Board issue Contractors Certificate No. 18, in sum of $3500.00
in favor of "Carter Electric Co."- contractors under Improvement
Resolution No.- 780-781 & 783-1925, for ornamental lights on
Main , South 5th & 6th Streets.
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for construction of
sanitary sewers under Improvement Resolution No. 784-1925 and
787-1926.
The Clerk was directed to forward statement of erroneus charges
in sum of $91.00 collected by Richmond City Water Works from the
City ffitl for Water Meter rent, from Aug. 1923 to Feb. 1926.
The Board selected Turner W. Hadley to assit in appraising cer-
tain property to be condemned in street openings, widenings, etc. ,
in place of J.F.Davenport, resigned.
Claims in sum of $14, 534..33 were allowed & ordered paid.
The Board then adjourned,

Thursday February 4th, 1926.
A delegation of Truckmen headed by Elmer Ford, appeared the
Board requesting that Traffic Light Systems be placed at North
"A" & 8th Street, also, at South "A" & 8th Street; also that
something be done to widen the street at the west end of Doran
Bridge at Sheridan Street and Richmond Avenue; also, requested
that Pennsylvania Railroad Company be instructed to repair the
railroad crossings at North 6th, 12th & 13th Streets, the Board
take all the above under advisement .
Permission was granted the T.H. I. & E. Traction Company and
C. M. Fletcher, to haul three car loads of lime over the South
8th Street, Street car lines, in construction of new school
building in south end, cars to be hauled over said line in the
evening.
In the matter of allowing the Reid Memorial Hospital the use of
ground known as the City s gravel pit as recommended by the Corn-
mon Council. The Board decide to make further investigations
before entering into agreement with Hospital authorities.
Claims in amount of 421,886. 67 were all wed.
The Board approved the various .payrolls to Feb. lst, 1926.
The Board then adjourned
