City of Richmond, Indiana,
Monday February 1st, 1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday February
1st, 1926, at 9 o 'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs,
Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-sit :1111

The Board received and accepted the grant of John M. Emery and
Edith .J. Emery his wife, dedicating to the City of Richmond, Indiana
for use of a public street, being part of Tract No. 223 of the Of-
ficial Map, of the City of Richmond, as shown on blue print, with
the understanding that the owners thereof shall not be molested in
the possession and use of said ground dedicated until said street
is improved as a public street.
The communication received from Richmond City Water Works relative
to the advisability of abolishing or modifying the policy of re-
quiring additional pressure for fire purposes, on account of the
possible dangers of blowing or bursting of water mains, which was
referred to Fire Chief E. E. Miller for investigation and report.
Mr. Miller presented or referred the communication back to the
Board, stating that he would not recommend abolishing the require-
ments for additional fire pressure service. The Clerk was directed
to request Mr. H. A. Dill Sup 't . , Water Works to meet with the Board
Thursday Feb. 4th, 1926.
The Clerk was instructed to prepare an ordinance appropriating the
sum of $360.00 from the General Fund of the City, to the Department
of Engineering, for the purchase of a new Chassis for said depart-
ment. -
The Board then adjourned,

Thursday February 4-th, 1926.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday February
4th, 1926, at 9 o'cllck A. M. All- the members of said Board,
Messrs, Land, McFail and-Henley being present. The following
proceedings were had, to-wit:
Upon the recommendation of the Board of Public Health, The Board
appoint Christopher A. Keen Sanitary Inspector for the-un-expired
term of W. W. Keen, deceased.
Complaints from Councilman Benn, in matter of widening intersec-
tion at SW. corner of West 5th & Main Street, was referred. to
Engineer for investigation and report. also, request for light
° at north end of Crosshall Street by Councilman Schlagle, was
referred to Sup 't. , of Light Plant for investigation & report.
The Board enter into.. contrast & agreement by and between the M.
E. L. & P.P. and Charles McLaughlin called the customer, where-
by the M.E.L.& P.P. agrees, to construct & maintain a 2300 volt
single phase line from the end of its line on National Road-west
Richmond, in Salisbury Road to the above customer, said customer
to pay to said plant the sum of $6-i-.00 (See agreement) .
The Board approved Resolution as passed by- the Common Council in
matter of improving School Street under Three-Mile Road Law.
Pursuant to notice given to the inhabitants of the• City of Rich-
mond, Indiana. The Board of Public Works met to hear remonstrances
or objections if any, against the Contract and Agreement presen-
ted by Sam Jaffe doing business in said City, for permission to
construct and maintain a railroad track to connect with the Penn-
sylvania Railroad lines for switching purposes only over and
across North 10th Street lying north of the main lines of said
Railroad Company and south of Pool Street which section of said
Street abuts on the property of the said Jaffe lying to the west
thereof and the property of the Pennsylvania Railroad lying tq
the east thereof, as filed with the Board on Monday January lath
1926, , on which date the Board fixed Thursday February -I•th, . 1926
at 9 o 'clock A. M. as a date and time at which said Oontxact and
Agreement will be finally considered publically at the office of
said Board, and upon said contract & agreement being published
and notices p`'sted as by law required, by the said Sam Jaffe.
The Board met to hear remonstrances or objections against said
contract & agreement as aforesaid. No remonstrance having been
filed and no objections having been entered against same. Proof
of publication of said contract & agreement and hearing in the
Richmond Item and the Palladium and Sun-Telegram, and the affi-
davits signed by - Sam Jaffe, that notices had been posted in 10

public places in said City. The Board unanimously approved said
Contract & Agreement, subject to the ratification of same by the
Common Council and approval of the Mayor of said City, and now
direct an ordinance be prepared and. presented to the Common
Council for their consideration and ratification.
