' The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in • regular session. at the office of said Board Monday January 25th,1926 -Messrs, McFail and Henley being present . Mr. ' Land, 'absent: Two mem- • 'bers of said Board being present. The following proceedings were had, • to-wit :- The Board met to hear remonstrance if any of persons interested or whose property is benefited by the construction -of a sanitary sewer between South 6th Street and Garden Avenue, beginning at the sewer in Garden Ave. at the 1st alley south of South "E" Street; thence east in alley to a point opposite the east line of lot 5, J.H.Mecke sub-div. thence southwestwardly to the C. & 0. R.R.right of way as provided under Improvement, Resolution No.785-1925. A remonstrance signed by f- Henry Lehman et-al, having been filed, after hearing all persons interested who appeared, the Board -overruled the remonstrance - and decade that the benefitsnto the property to be assessed 'are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and there upon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed • without modification. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.787-1926, for the construction of sanitary sewer in the alley between South- . west 1st Street & Whitewater Boulevard, thru the L.H. Smithmeyer • Addition, lots from No. 15 to ail- both inclusive, Whereas E. C. Wright owner of all the property affected by said sewer, having signed his rights to -object or remonstrate against said sewer, in order to fac- ilitate & expedite the work, the Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for construction of sewer, as soon as Engineering Ilepartment areaable to take levels etc. , - - The Board received petition for improvement of Harris St . from Maple to School' Street, by cement sidewalks, C.& G. & .paved roadway, • • .Also, for construction of cement sidewalks on south side of West Main St-. ' from Sth to llth St. both above referred to Engineer for estimate. of cost to City. The Board received petition for the improvement of Southwest 5th St. bycconstruction of cement sidewalks, C.&G.both sides and grading and paving roadway with one of 4 kinds of modern improvements, referred to Engineer for plans, as he reported no cost to city. The City Engineer reported the completion of contracts under Improve- ment Resolutions 765 & 767-1925, for planting of trees in South lath & 21st Street, from South "B" to "E11 Street , the Board accepted the same and approved primary assessment rolls for said improvements. The Board received dedication of right of way for sewer in Lot 17, 15 & 16, L.H.Smithmeyers, Add. signed by Edwin C. Wright . The Board adopted -specifications filed by City Engineer for road oil to be used on City streets, the coming season. The Board then adjourned, f: Attest : Prest .of Board riot w tam. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session Thursday January 28th, 1926, at 9 o "ollck A. M. Messrs, McFail and Henley being present, Mr. Land,Absent. Two members of said Board being present. The following proceed- ings were had, to-wit:- The Clerk was directed to advertise for 20, 000 gallons more or less of Tar TM. under the Specifications of City Civil Engineer as approved by the Board. The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 195- 1926, to condemn and appropriate.-sufficient lots and lands for right of way to construct and maintain a sewer between Garden Avenue and South 6th Street, from the 1st alley south of South "E" Street to the C. & O. . Railroad right of way. • The Board met to hear remonstrances , if any, of persons inter- ested or whose property is affected by the vacation of South 7th Street from South "M" to "N" Street, under Declaratory Resolu- tion No. 193-1926. No one appearing or remonstrating. The Board being duly advised in the premises confirm said resolution, and now direct that a list or roll be prepared of all property own- ers beneficially affected, which list or roll shall also describe the property injuriously affected. The Board received and accepted the grant of Elver E. Cartwright and Maud Cartwright his wide, dedication to the City of Richmond, for use of a public street, being a part of Tract 222 of the Of- ficial Map, of the City of Richmond, as shown on blue print,with the understanding that in dedicating this property the owners shall not be molested in the possession and• use of the same until same is improved as a public street.
