City of'Richmond , Indiana ;
Monday November 30th , 1925 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of said Board Monday November
30th ,, 1925, at 9 o' clock A.M. All, the members of said Board
Messrs , Land, McFail and Henley being present . The following
proceedings were had; to-wit : -
The Board received petition for sewer in the territory east. of
__ Clear Creek, referred to. Engineer.
The Board ordered fire hydrant placed at South "N" Street west
of railroad switch; South 8th & "M" Street and South 9th and"0"
Street , and directed the Engineer to submit plans to Water Works
of any contemplated changes in streets between Peacock Road and
West Main Street.
Permission was granted Board of School Trustees , tomplace School
Zone signs in East Haven Ave ; also on National Road warning the
public of School Zones, all at the expense of said Board of
School Trustees.
City Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance extending
congested distri ct under, traffic regulations ordinance .
City Attorney reported in matter of employees of M.E.L.& P.P.
as to payment of income tax, stating that under certain decisions
of the Federal Court , they are exempt , but as that is a matter
entirely between the employee and the government , he would rec-
Commend that the Supit. , of said plant , furnish the Revenue col-
lector with a report of wages received from the different em-
ployees.
Claim in amount of 02025 .00 were allowed and ordered paid.
The Board directed the Clerk to advertise for bids for furnishing
the Street Lepartment with a one ton capacity motor driven truck
with Anthony automatic 1 & 2 yard end dump body, with stiff leg
all steel cab with miror.
The Board then adjourned ,

Monday November 23rd , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular -session at the office of said Board Monday November
23rd , 1925, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board
Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following
proceedings were had , to-wit : -

The Board approved the contract & bond of Carter Electric Company
of Kokomo , Indiana, Contractors for installing lighting system &
light posts , under ,Improvement Resolution No' s. 780-781 & 783-
1925.
, The Board approve and sign contract with General Electric Co. , for
Meters for coming year for M.E.L.& P.P.
Mr. N. H. Johns o@, manager of Richmond Light, Heat & Power Co. ,
petitioned the Board thru Mr. Henley, for permission to lay gas
main in South 21st Street south of Reeveston Road, to supply the
property of R. Dennis & Hawekotte , as Mr. Johnson refused to lay
mains in this street before the same was recently improved. The
Board on motion refused said company permission to dig up this
street, for laying of gas main at this time .
The Board at a conference held by them together with Mr. G. J.
Derbyshire , Sup' t. , of C . & 0. R. R. Co. , together with engineers
as to the condition of bridge crossing their tracks in South 9th
Street . it was decided at the suggestion of Mr. Derbyshire , the
City Engineer prepare a tentative drawing and plans of suitable
bridge at this point and forward the same to Mr. Derbyshire , in
an effort to have new bridge constructed at this point , Mr. Derby-
shire accepted an invitation to appear before the Council this
evening and place the matter before them as to flashlight signal
system at some of their grade crossings.
Thursday next being Thanksgiving Day, the Board adjourned to meet
Monday November 30 , 1925. no meeting to be held Thursday Nov. 26.
Claims in amount of 2992.68 were allowed & ordered paid.
The Board then adjourned,
