The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indi ana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday November 9th , 1925 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs . Land , McFail arid Henley' being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : - • The city Civil Engineer reported ,the •completion •of contract under Improvement, resolution No ., 775-1925. for the improvement of South- west 1st Street, by cement sidewalks , curb & gutter and paving the • roadway with Asphalt , from National Road to Southwest "D" Street . _ The Board acc epted the same , together with a maintenance bond in the sum of 20% of the aggregate cost of said improvement for -3 years filed by The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , . The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 779-1925, for the construction of cement 'sidewalks on South 6th Street , from South "H" to "J" Street. . The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons interested - or whose property is affected by the vacation of the all ey. be tween North 22nd & 23rd. Street,' from North "D" Street , north to the alley running east & west. .No one appearing or remonstrating against said vacation. The Board confirmed said resolution, and now order a list or roll prepared of all property holders beneficially affected which list or roll shall also describe the property injuriously affected. The Board granted permission to J. F. Hornaday to cut the curb on South "D" Street , at Lot No. 7 , C. T.Prices , Addition. A petition was presented for the _construction of sewer in the alley between South 8th & 9th Street. , from South "L" to "M" Street , same was referred-.to _ Engineer for plans etc. , The Board received bids for the improvement of Main. Street, South 5th and South 6th Streets; from Main Street bridge to 3rd Street, and frrn _Main to South "A" Street , by the erection and installation of orna- • mental lighting system and posts-on said_ streets, complete as pro- vided under Improvement Resolutions No. 780-781 & 783-1925 as fdfibws - "Richmond Electric Company, 'bid: 780-1925--complete-41900 .00 , •781-1925--complete 8 300 .00 , 783-1925 complete --ti131800.00, or for all three streets under 780-781- & 783 • using. G.E.Cable p6,000.00-- American Steel & Wire Cable ; 5596.50. " Carter Electric Company, of Kokomo , Ind, 'bid: Western or Westinghouse cable v5506.80 complete far' all Simplex Wire & Cable Co. 30% .Para Rubber add 0477 .00. The bids were erferred to Sup` t. of Light Plant for investigation and report . • The Board directed the Finance Department to pay to John F. Hipskin contractor reserves undrr Improvement Resolution No. 720-1924, 0527 .75 , 721--1924-w351.66, 737-1924-4180 . 13, 743-1924-41080.93. Claims in amount of 11,468 .89 were allowed. Board Messrs , Land , Mc•'ail and Henley being present`. The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - . The Board received communication from r.ichmorid City 'eater Viorks • reporting the inadvisability of laying water main in South 5th Street, from South "N" to "0" Street , at this time cn account of conditi on of street . • *The Board received estimate for furnishing labor & material neces-- sary to make repai rs on the trusses and put them in good condit- ion on both bridges in .Happy Hollow for the sum of 04500 .00 , • the Board after some discussion decide to take up this question with the Common Council I. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution I1o.784-1925 for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in the alley between South 8th & 9th Street, from South "I." to "M" Street. The City Civil .Bn_gineer reported the completion of contracts un- der Improvement iiesoluti on 773--1925 , also , under Improvement Reso- lution No. 777-1925. • The Board directed the r'inance .Department to pay the various 5% reserves held under contracts and resolutions to the following named contractors as follows, to-wit : - Imp.
