The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board , Thursday October let, 1925, at 9. o` cldck A. M. Messrs; McFail and Hanley being present , Mr. Land, absent. Two members of the Board being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 783-1925 to improve South 5th Street, by constructing , erecting and instal- ling and operating a system of Street Lights and, Posts (Ornamental) on both sides of street, from Main to South "A" Street. A petition signed by Chas. M. Benson, et.-al, praying for the vaca- tion of the alley between N.ort1 22nd & 23rd Street, from North "D" Street north to alley running east & west , was received and refer- _ red to the City Plan Commissi on and Engineer. The Board received copy of petition as filed with the Public Ser- vice Commission of Indiana., by the Richmond Light , Heat & Power Co. , praying for re-valuati on of the property and schedule of rates, placed on file. The Board received bids for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in 1st alley west of Southn9th Street, from South "H" to "L" Street under Improvement Resolution No. 782-1925 , as follows, to-wit :- " John F. Hipskind , bid; Sewer Complete $5.48 per linear foot. " Z. B. Pyle and. Co. , bid ; Sewer Complete $5.60 per linear foot. The bid of John F. Hipskind being the lowest and within the estimate of the City Civil Engineer , the contract was so awarded. The Board received notice of hearings on bus lines, to be held before the Public Service Commission at Indianapolis Oct. 15,1925. The Finance ,Department was directed to pay to Schnieder Bros . , 5% reserve on contract under Resolution No. 700-1925 , $37.10. The .Boarrld approved claims in amount of 10,981. 57 were allowed, Payrolls to October 1st , 1925 , were approved. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at the office . of said Board , Monday September 28th , 1925 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board , Messrs , Land , Mcl'ai l and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to wit : - A petition signed by the Trustees of the School • City of Richmond , praying for the vacation of South llth Street, from South "J"- to - "L" Street ; also for the vacation of a 12' alley west. of South .11th Street ; and a 20 ' alley east of South 11th -Street , from South "J" to "L" Street, the same was referred to City Civil Engineer for resolution etc . , Permission was granted 'to George J. O'Brien to cut the curb for - driveway on South 23rd Street at I.Ot 288, Reeve ston Addition. The Board continue hearing under Declaratory Resolution No. 181-1925 Final assessment roll to October 15th , 1925. The Clerk was directed to advertise for furnishing printed supplies-- for use of M.E.L.& P.P. for ensuing 6 months . The Board approved agreement by and between the M.E.L.& P.P. and The Postal 'elegraph-Cable Co. , for joint pole arrangement offi the Peacock- Road. The Clerk was directed to write to Eugene Anderson foreman of the M.E.L.& P.P. expressing the appreciation of the Board , for the man- ner in which he and his men have constructed the roads around the Light Plant.
