HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-17-1925 272 Office of Hoard of Public Works , City of Richmond , Indiana, Thursday September 17th, 1925. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday September 17th, 1925, at -9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board ,Messrs , Land , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to -wit : - Pursuant to postponement to this date. The Board met to hear all persons primarily assessed as benefits and damages warded in the matter of the Widening of South "J" Street 7 ' on north side and 10' on south side , from South 9th Street east to 13th Street, under Declaratory Resolution No. 188-1925. After considering the remon- strance as filed August 31st, 1925, by the heirs of Caroline Fihe estate . The Board- being fully advised in the premises , over-rule said remonstrance , and confirm all former action heretofore taken in said widening , and approve without modification the primary as- sessment of benefits & damages as heretofor approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance . Pursuant to postponement to this date . The Board met to hear all persons primarily assessed as benefits and damages awarded in the matter of the widening of South "J" Street. 7 ' on north side and 10' on south side , from South 13th Street east to Oente r line of Sec. 4, Twsp. 13, range . 1, west , under Declaratory Resolution No. 189- 1925. After ' considering the remonstrance as filed Aug. 31st , 1925, by the heirs of Caroline Fihe , est . , The Board being fully advised in the .premises , over-rule said remonstrance , and confirm and approve without modi fication a final assessment roll of benefits & damages as heretofore approved , and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance . _ The. Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 778-1925, for the improvement of the alley between South llth & 12th Street, from South "E" to "F" Street. The Board directed the Clerk to order a set of special wheels to be attached to city' s Ford tractor, for use at Golf Course , Glen Park, from The W. E. McWhinney Co. , the same to be paid January, 1926. The Clerk was directed to notify D.C.Hess Sup' t. Light Plant , to change the poles & lines on north side of North "E" Street , prep- aratory to the widening of said street at Pensy. Station. The Board direct the Richmond CityvWater Works , to lay 10 & 12" water mains in South"L" From 9th to 13th Street and in South 13th Street from South "L" to "J" Street. Payrolls of City to September 16th , 1925, were approved. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday September 14th , 1925, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members ,of said Board ,Messrs, Land , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to.wit : ® The Board received communication from J. T.Wetherill, tendering a I/ good wide road between Bridge Ave and North 10th Street , if the , city desire to condemn Happy Hollow for lark purposes , with the understanding the road be constructed without any expense to him, placed on file . Permission was granted Albert Brown to cut the curb at 2100 North "E" Street. Upon the recommendation of Fire Chief Miller, Chas. W. Allard was appointed a members of Fire Department. The Board accept and approved a deed from Mary Weller conveying to the City a strip of ground 5ft . wide off west part of Lot 36, J.Cox Add. for widening of North "A" Street , between 5th & 6th Streets. The Board ordered water mains extended as follows , South "0" Street -S.9th to alley west 6" South 9th S. "L" to "0" Street , 10" mains. Peacock Road , from West 8th to East uaven Avenue , National Road , from West 11th to East Haven Ave , Last Haven Ave . Peacock Ad. to National Road 12" mains , Fast Haven Ave. Peacock Rd. to Hills Green houses 6" main; 6" mains in Hilda St. Also in Roscoe Street. The Board direct the Clerk to request for meeting with the school Board Thursday Sep. 17 , 1925 . The Clerk was directed to ascertain by Thursday, from Austin Mfg . Co. , as to price of equipment for Austin Pup to be attached to Ford Tractor, also to increase the weight from 3 to 5 ton. The Clerk was directed to notify Richmond Home Telephone Co. , in placing conduit from Kinsey Street north to place the same in City park property adjacent to NW. 1st Street. The Clerk was directed to write a letter of commendation to Clark Miller, for the manner in which he has placed the Court House grounds also send a copy of same to County Commissoners.
