The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in . regular session at the office of said Board Monday August 10th,1925, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had ,to-wit : The Board grant permission to Harry Feetzer to cut curb for drive- way on east side of Last Haven Ave. at Lot No. 7 , Frank Price ,Add. • The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 782-1925, for the construction of Sanitary Sewer in the alley first west of South 9th Street, from South "H" Street Trunk Sewer to South "L" St. The Board approved a primary assessment roll under the following Im- provement Resolutions , to-wit : Improvement Resolution No.758-1925, for improvement Richmond Avenue by concrete roadway from West 5th to Sedgwick Street . Improvement llesoliti on No.768-1925, for improvement of both side of North 14th Street, , by constructing cement sidewalks, from North "F" to "J'! Street . Improvement Resolution No. 776-1925, for the 'improvement of the alley between State & Williams Street, by constructing a cement roadway from Boyer to Northwest 2nd Street. ' The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.778-1925, for improvement of the alley between South llth & 12th Street , by constructing a cement roadway , from South "E" to "F Street , as follows , to -wit : - " Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid : Cement roadway .235/ square foot ; Serer connections 'l. 25 lin-ft. The bid of Daniel G. Burkhardt being the cnly bid received and be- ing within the estimate of the City Civil Engineer. The contract was awarded to -0aniel G. Burkhardt . The Board received request from 0. V. Porter Chairman of Committee, for permission to close the North 12th Street •railroad crossing on August 22nd , 1925 , from 9 A.M. to Midnight , on account of congest- ed condition arising on that day from the number of passenger coach- es , required to transport railroaders and their families to the Pennsylvania Western :region Athletic Meet to be held in this City on that date . The request was unanimously granted , and clerk direct- ed to notify Mr. Porter, that the city will place barricades 3: lan- ters at the north &: south end of streets9 , leading to crossing . • • The Board then adjourned, Pres . of Board Attest : Ole rk of oa rd • Thursday August 6th , 1925. 261 The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is affected under Improvement iresolution No. 779-1925, providing for the improvement of South 6th Street ,. by constructing cement sidewalks 5ft. wide on both sides of street , from South "H" to "J'T Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared arid no one remonstrating . The Board decide that the benefits to property -liable to be assessed foe' said improvement are ecual to the cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final acti on on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. • The Board. granted the following Contractors Certificates , viz inson ":iagaw, under Improvement i-Aesolutio,n No. 753-1925-'156Z. 50 ; Wilson da,gaw , under Improvement i-.esoluti-on No. 754-1925-N?192. 68 ; i'arold Tharp, under Improvement ite^o•lution No. 768-19?5-2386. 27 . The 'Clerk was directed to noti fy The nichmond Light , Heat & Power . Co. , to begin to lay gas mains and stubs to property line i.n South- west 1st Street, from National load to Southwest "D" Street , so as not to delay the improvement of -said street now under construct- ion.
