Thursday July 9th, 1925.

The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday July 9th
1925, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs ,
Land, McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit : -
The Board approved the contract & bond of Daniel G. Burkhardt,
contractor under Improvement Resolution No.776-1925.
The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any of persons primarily
assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 760-1925, providing for
the improvement of National Road, by constructing cement curh, gut-
ter, sidewalks, grading roadway, planting of trees from Southwest
1st to 2nd Street. No one appearing or remonstrating, the Board
approved a final assessment roll confirming the original assess-
ment roll, and now 'direct the same be transmitted forthwith to
the Department of Finance.
The Board met to hear remonstrance if any, of persons primarily
assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 771-1925, for the im-
provement of the alley between South llth & 12th Street, by con-
structing a cement roadway from South"F" to "G" Street. No one
remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll confirm-
ing the original assessment roll heretofore approved. And now di-
rect the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance.
The Board met to hear remonstrance if any, of persons primarily
assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 772-1925, for the im-
provement of South "I" Street, by constructing cement curb & gut-
ters on both sides of street , and grading & graveling the roadway
from South 9th Street , to the 1st alley west . No one remonstrating
the Board approved a final assessment roll confirming the origin-
al assessment roll heretofore approved. And now direct the same
be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance .
The Board met to hear remonstrance if any, of persons primarily'
assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 774-1925, for the im-
provement of the alley between South llth & 12th Street, by con-
structing a cement roadway from South "G" to "H" Street. No one
remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll , confirm-
ing the original assessment roll heretofore approved. And now di-
rect the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 779-1925
for the improvement of South 6th Street, by constructing cement
sidewalk on both sides of street , from South "H" to "J" Street.
The Board received a petition for improvement of Ridge Street, by
constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides and paving the
roadway with one of the modern kinds of pavement , same was refer-
red to the Engineering Department for plans and estimate of City' s
cost of same and report.
Grace Logan was granted permission to cut the curb at 306 North
13th Street for water drain.

The Board received letter of thanks , from Board of Trustees of
Fountain City, Indiana, thanking the City and city firemen. for
the aid rendered them June Eth, 1925.
A petition presented to Council at their last session signed by
49 residents, which was referred to the Board & City Attorney by
said council, praying that the city cause the T.U. I.& E. Traction
Col , to remove the poles and high tension wires from Southwest 10
5th & "A" Streets, was presented to the Board, and referred to the

City Attorney, as to the legal phase of said petition.
A resolution passed at last session of council, requesting lights
be placed in 1st alley north of Main Street, from North 16th to
17th Street, was read to the Board, the same was referred to Sup' t.
Hess of City Light plant for- investigation and report. '
The Board received notice from Public Service Commission, as to
hearings before that body in matter of application for a certifi-
cate of Public convenience and necessity, of Amos Surface , to oper-
ate a Motor Bus line from Union City to Richmond, Indiana, also.,
Hiner's Red Ball Lines , Inc. , for a certificate of Public Convenience
and necessity to operate bus line from Indianapolis to Richmond,
said hearing to be held on July 22nd & 2oth, respectively.
The elerk reported various . complaints received at last session of
council as to streets , sewer inlets , etc. ,
The Board rent to Chas Tagart, for the sum of 20.00 per month
the old Engine house at South 6th & "E" Street, all improvements
to property if any, to be made by said Taggart, at his own expense ,
the rent to be from month to month and payable in advance at 10th
day of each month, the said Taggart to vacate the house at any
time upon Three days notice being 0iven, also to pay the difference
in rate on Fire Insurance if any. Bnilding to be used for making
feather bedding, pillows , etc. ,
The Board then adjourned,
