The B oa rd of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 22nd , 1925, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board , Messrs , Land. , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were -had , to-wit : - - The Board approved the contract & bond of J. L. Teegarden contract- or under Improvement' Resolution No. 758-1925. Pursuant to continuance " to this date. The Board take up the petition filed by a majority of the resident property owners residing on Southwest 1st Street from National Road. to Southwest "D" Street ,pray- ing that said street .be paved wi th Sheet Asphalt under Improvement Resolution No. 775-192 5. The Andrews Asphalt -Paving Co. , bid being the lowest bid received and being within the estimate of the City Civil Engineer, the prayer of the petitioners was on motion granted and the contract awarded to the Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. ,under the plans & specifications in said improvement resolution. The Board approved primary assessment rolls under the Improvement Reso lutions as named,- to -wit : - Improvement Resolution No. 760-1925, National Road , 1st to 2nd St. Improvement Resolution No. 771-1925, alley between South llth & 12th Street, cement roadway from South "1 ' to "G" Street. Improvement Resolution No. 772 -1925 , South "I" Stre " ,South 9th Street west to alley running north & south. Improvement Resolution No. 774-1925, alley bet . South llth & 12th Street. cement roadway from South "G" to "H" Street . The Street Commissioner was instructed tompatch the roads , in Glen Miller Park before oil is placed on the same . The Board signed certifiedte No. 9 & 10 in favor of W.L. Magaw, for 85% of work completed under Improvement resolution No' s , 753 & 754 in sum of 5483.00 & $3208.00 respectively. • The. Board granted permission to the Richmond Oil Company to cut the curb for driveway at filling station being constructed at Last Main and North 2nd. Street. The Clerk was directed to notify the Board of County Commissioners that the approach to the alley at Richmond Ave . on N.W. 5th Street had not been made . The Building InspeCtor was directed to use. Bronze hinges on doors at new Fire Statiibn. On account of various complaints of T.H. I.& E. Traction Co. freight cars being left standing in streets and matter of long and heavy trains being run around 20th & Main Streets , the Clerk was directed to; notify said company of complaints in an endeavor to have same eliminated. 244 Monday June 22nd , 1925 . The Board ordered plans prepared for cementing the alley between South llth & 12th Streets, from South "E" to "F" Street . The Board award the contract for furnishing coal to City Building Hose Houses and Detention Hospital , to Shera Coal and Supply Co. , at prices submitted therefore on June 8th, 1925, the Pocahontas Coal subject to the following analysis, to-wit : Volatile-16.50 Fixed carbon-78.75; Ash-5. 25 ; Moisture 1.50 ; Sulphur--. 96 . The Board received bids for legal printing and advertisements for the City of Richmond , Indiana, for the year beginning July 1st and ending. June 30 , 1926 , as follows , to-wit : - " The Richmond Item , bid: For first insertion-- .50 ' per inch ; for each additional insertion .46V per inch, an inch to consist of 8 lines & 6 words to line. " The Richmond Palladium, bid; Fifty ( 4, 0. 50'1) cents an inch for all insertions . The bid of the Richmond Item , being considered the lowest, the contract was awarded to said Richmond Item. The Clerk was directed to notify the Secy. , of Community Service in the matter of holding entertainments in South 10th Street Park to have the chairs and benches removed immediately after such en- tertainments are over. • The Board then ad journed, Pre S . o oa rd At te st Clerk oo oard
