Thursday June 18th 91925 .
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday June 18th
1925 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members e said. Board Messrs,
Land , McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings
were had, to-wit : -
Pursuant to continuance to this date , the Board met to hear all
persons interested in or whose property is affected by the open-
ing of Southwest "C" Street , from Southwest 4th Street to College
Avenue , under Declaratory Resolution No. 187-1925. After hearing
all persons interested who appeared. The Board being fully advised
in the premises, take final action on said resolution, confirming
without modification, all former action taken on the same . And the
Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners or
holders of property, and of valuable interests therein, sought to
be taken or to be injuri ously affected, which list or roll shall
- also describe the property beneficially affected.
The Board met to hear all persons primarily assessed on account of
the improvement of the alley between South 16th & 17th Street , by
constructing a cement roadway from amin to South "A" Street ,under
Improvement Resolution No. 756-1925. No one appearing or remon-
strating. The Board approved a final assessment roll confirming
the original assessment roll heretofore approved, . and now direct
the same be transmitted forthwith . to the Department of Finance.
The Board met to hear remonstrances if any of persons primarily
assessed on account of improvement of east side of Southwest 2nd
Street , by. constructing cement curb , gutter & sidewalk at vacated
Howard Street , under Improvement hesolution No. 759 -1925. No one
remonstrating , the Board approved a final assessment roll as here-
tofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith
to the Lepartient of Finance .
The Board received petition signed by a majority of the resident
owners on Richmond Avenue from Northwest 5th to Sedgwick Street
under Improvement Resolution No. 758 -1925, praying that said street
be paved with Re-inforced concrete . The Board on motion award the
contract for paving the roadway of said street between the points
named, to J. L. Teegarden designating that said street be paved
with re-inforced concrete.
The Board received a petitiorL signed by majority of resident prop-
erty owners on Southwest 144 tre et , from National Road to SW. "D"
I Street, praying that said street be paved with Sheet Asphalt under
Improvement Resolu 5o,n No. 775-1925. The Board continue action on
said pe titiohn .until^ Monday June 22, 1925.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
Improvement Resolution No. 772-1925, for grading & graveling road-
way & constructing cement curb & gutter on both sides of South"I"
Street, from South 9th Street west to the alley. The Board accept
the same and order assessment roll prepared.

A petition was received for improvement of the alley between
South l lth & 12th Street , by constructing a cement roadway from
South "E" to "F" Street, referred to Engineering Department for
investigation as to the number of resident property owners .
The City Civil Engineer submitted various streets to be oiled
this season which was accepted and Engineer directed to proceed
with said oiling, report ordered filed in office of clerk.
The Street Commissioner was directed to baracade Southwest 2nd
Street between Main Street and rational Road , on account of
serious sickness on said street .
Mr. Hess Sup' t. , of M.E.L.& P.P. presented a written report cov-
ering insurance policies for the Municipal Electric Lighting &
Power Plant and the Civil City , same was placed on file .
The Clerk was directed to correspond with Mrs . U. Stanton and as-
certain if possible her attitude in matter of widening North "A"
Street along side of her property from North 6th Street east -to
the alley.
The Board set Thursday June 25 ,- 1925, as a date for meeting with
representatives of the T.H. I.& E. Traction. Co. , Starr 2iano Co. ,
and Mr. Hess, . in matter of roadway leading to power houses and
lumber yard from Main Street.
The Board & Mr. Hess meet with Traction representatives in mat-
ter of poles in East Haven Avenue , after some discussion this
matter was referred to Mr. Hess and Schlesinger Sup't. , of
Distributi-on & Sub Stations of Traction Co. , for adjustment.
Claims in amount of 2_8 65.34 were allowed & ordered paid.
