HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-15-1925 Office of Board of Public Works 239 City of .iichmond, Indiana, Monday June 15th, 1925 . The Board of Public Works of the City of hichmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday June 15th 1925 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had, to-wit : - The Board approved the contract & bond. of McCabe Construction Co. of Cincinnati , Ohio, contractors for labor etc . , to complete brick setting of new boiler at M.E.L.& P.P. The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under Improvement resolution No. 774 -1925, for cement alley between South llth & 12th Street , from South "G" ito "H" Street, the Board accept the same & order assessment roll prepared. The Board accepted improvements under Improvement i eso lutio n No. 760 also 771-1925 , and order assessment roll prepared. The Board approved final assessment roll under Improvement Resolution No. 763-1925, for sewer outlets at South "B" "C" "D" & 2nd Streets and south of Piano Factory buildings , and direct the same transmit- ted forthwith to the Department of Finance . The City Attorney was directed to prepare agreements and deeds with out cost to Mary Weller, Chas. E. .Cox & L. Morel , . in matter of prop- erty to be deeded to city in widening of North "A" Street , from North 5th to 6th Street. The Clerk was directed to notify the Postal Telegraph-Cable Co, that the ci ty will widen North "A" Street , and for them to re-set their poles to confirm to such widening. The Clerk was directed to correspond with Board of County Commission- ers and ascertain what has been done in matter of Linden Avenue at the intersection of Northwest 5th Street . The Clerk was directed to request a conference with -representatives of the T.H. I.& E. Traction Co. , in matter of certain pole lines and dirt in alley east of car barns . The Board received bids for furnishing 43,500 number 2 Fire Brick for boiler setting at the M.E.L.& P. P. as follows, to-wit : - " Tiger Coal &; Supply Co. , bid ; leale de Christy fire brick # 2 $47 .35 per M. " Mather Bros , Company, bid ; C .F.B. XX Brand,Chicago Fire Brick Co. , $33.00 per M. Fire Clay in cloth at $9.50 per ton 24 0 gonday June 15th , 1925 . Green Fire Brick Company, bid ; 43, 500 Star straights 9 X 42 X 22 $36 .85 per M. D. M. Fire Clay in 100# cotton sacks - 10.50 per ton Upon the recommendation of D. C. Hess, Sup' t. , of M.E. L. & P. P. the contract was awarded to the Tiger Coal & Supply Co. , for furnish- ing 43,500 # 2 Oak Hill Ohio, fire brick and 8 tons of fire clay at prices submitted $31 .20 per M. & p9.00 per ton respectively. The Board approved the various payrolls to June 16, 1925. Claims in amount of $6568. 26 were all/wed & ordered paid. The Board then adjourned, • bt . of Board Attest : Clerk o f B—o ,rd . '�
