Thursday June llth , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday June llth
1925 , at 9 o' clock A. 1.1. Ail the members of said Board ,Messrs,
Land , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings
were had , to -wit :
The Board directed the Finance Depart ment to pay `'50 .00 balance
due Z.B.Pyle Co. , contractors under Improvement Aesolution No.
617 -1921 .
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.777-1925
for improvement of South 6th Street,by constructing cement curb &
gutter on both sides of street , from South "E" to "J" Street .
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under
• Improvement jesolution No. 760-1925, for improvement of rational
Road , by grading roadway , constructing cement sidewalks , C..& G.
and planting of trees & seeding the lawns, from Southwest 1st to
2nd Street.
The City Civil Engineer reported the completion of contract under -
Improvement Resolution No. 771-1925, for improvement of alley be-
tween South 11th & 12th Street , by constructing cement roadway
from South "F" to "G" Street.
The Board directed the Richmond. City Water Works, to lay a 6"
water main in South 5th Street , from South "I" to "L" Street;
Also to place fire hydrant at South 5th & "L" Street, and three
fire hydrants placed on Liberty Avenue ,. between South "H" and
south corporation line of City , hydrants to be placed at points
recommended by Fire Chief.
The Street Car Co. , was granted permission to block west side of
North 5th Street one block at time between North "A" & "D" Street
for purpose of repairing street along their tracks .
The Board authorized the Fire Chief to purchase Telephone Booth
for New Fire Station; also to have a telephone placed in his res-
idence , City to pay for same , also' rental thereof.
Upon recommendation of D.C .Hess Sup't. Light Plant , the Board aw
ward contract for ornamental- posts & equipment to Varney Electri-
cal Supply Co., at prices named in their bid of June 8, 1.925.
The Clerk was directed to notify Richmond_ City Water Works, to
make application for digging into the streets , before beginning
such digging, as required by City Ordinances.
The Engineering & Street Departments, were directed to make out
itemized statements and present the same to utilities showing the
cost of back-filling', etc . , of trenches made by them .
