Thursday June 4th , 1925.
The Board of Public Works' of the Citynof Richmond , Indiana , met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday June 4th , 1925
at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land , Mc-
Fail and Henley , being present . The following proceedings were had ,
to-wit: -
I meets
The Boardito hear all persons interested in or whose property is af-
fected under Improvement Resolution No. 776-1925, for the improvement
of the alley between State & Williams' Street, by constructing cement
roadway the full width thereof , from Boyer to Northwest End. Street.
After hearing all persons interested who appeared no remonstrance
having been filed. The Board decide that the benefits to the property
liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the cost of
• same , and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same
being confirmed without modification.
The Board meets to hear all persons interested in, or whose property
is affected un Declaratory Resolution No. 187-1925, providing for the
opening of 'Southwest "C" Street from Southwest 4th Street to College
Avenue , after hearing all persons interested who appeared, .a remon-
strance having been filed by Chas. , Russel and W.S.McClellan remon-
strating against said opening , The Board direct the Clerk to make up
a tentative assessment roll, and to notify interested property hold-
ers of the probable cost of said opening , and to meet with the Board
Thursday June 18th , 1925, 9 o' clock A. M. and continue hearing on
said resolution to June 18th , 1925.
The Board received remonstrance against any further action in matter
of opening South "11" Street , from South 12th to the alley between
South 13th & 14th Street , referred. to Engineer.
The Board received petition for the construction of cement curb and ,
gutter on both sides of South 6th Street , from South "E" to "J" St.
referred to City Engineer for plans , etc . ,
A petition signed by Geo. R. Bullerdi ck et-al , requesting fire hy-
drants be placed on Liberty Avenue , betw,een South "K" Street and the
south corporation line , stating that a 6" water main is now in said
street , referred to Chief of Fire Department , for investigation and
report.
The Board received report of J.A.Bailey , C.D,.Shideler & J.F.Davenport
appraisers appointed to appraise certain property to be appropriated
in opening of Southwest "C" Street , to College Ave. as follows :-
Lot 10,Earlham Place ,Add . $1 ,000.00; 172 ft. off rear end of Tracts
215 & 216 , Official Map, .75 lin-ft ; 5ft. off S .S. Lot 23, J. Cox,
Add. to widen N. "A" St. $500 .00; 5ft. off private alley same street
10.00; also , opening alley between N. 6th & 7th Street, from S. "0"
St. south to alley ; interior lots . 25V sq-ft ; land fronting North
"C" St. west side of proposed alley , $20.00, benefits to be deducted. ;
land. fronting N. "C" Street , east side of proposed alley-$20.00 no
benefits to be deducted , and plus damages for garage .
The Board authorizing the payment of 03825 .00 to E.W.Bendfeldt con-
tractor on new fire station, 85`0 of work done in May.

The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No.758 -1925
for the improvement of Richmond Avenue , by paving the roadway
wi th one of the following kinds of pavements , to -wit : Reinforced
Concrete , Sheet Asphalt , Rock Asphalt or Bituminous Macadam,plant-
ing of trees from West 5th Street to Sedgwick Stre et , as follows: -
" J. L. Teegarden , bid ;
8" Reinforced Concrete pavement 2.42 sq-yd.
2" Rock Asphalt on 67 concrete base 2.50 "
3" Bituminous Macadam on 6" concrete base 2.39 "
" W. L. Magaw, bid ;
8" Reinforced concrete - - - - - $2.60 sq-yd .
3" Bituminous macadam on 6" concrete base 2.50 "
planting trees , $5.00 each ; sewer connections 1. 50 tin-ft.
" The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , bid ;
3" Sheet Asphalt on 6" concrete base $2. 90 sq-yd.
Planting trees--$5.00 each , sewer connecti ons 1.00 lin-ft .
" Z. B. Pyle & Co. , bid ;
8" neinforced concrete $2.65 sq-yd .
3" Bituminous macadam on 6" concrete base 2.674 "
Planting trees-36.00 each ; Sewer connections 2.00 tin-ft.
" Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ;
8" Reinforced concrete $2.85 sq-yd.
Planting trees- $5.00 each ; Sewer connections 1.75 lin-ft .
" John F. Hipskind , bid ;
8" Reinforced concrete $2. 90 sq-yd.
2" Rock Asphalt on 6" concrete base 3.15 "
3" Bituminous macadam on 6" concrete base 2.80 "
Planting trees-$5.00 each; Sewer connections 1. 25 tin-ft.
J.L.Teegarden , having failed to insert the price in his bid
for furnishing Ec planting trees and sewer connections , he sub-
mitted bid. of 05.00 each for trees, and - 1.50 lin-ft. sewer con.
this matter was referred to City Attorney as to legality of bid .
The Board thereupon enters its preliminary order designating
said Richmond Avenue , be paved vd th Bituminous Macadam.'
The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 775-1925.
for the improvement of Southwest 1st Street , by constructing ce-
ment sidewalks 5' wide, curb & gutter on both sides of street &
grading 8c paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of
pavements to-wit: Reinforced Concrete , Sheet Asphalt, Rock Asphalt
or Bituminous Macadam; also platting of trees on both sides of
street, from National Road to Southwest "D" Street, as follows :
