Thursday May 28th , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met
in regular session at the office of said. Boat Thursday May 28th
1925 , at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs ,
Land, McFai 1 and Henley being present . , The fo llowing proceedings
were had , to -wit : - •
The Board directed the Finance Department to pay to Daniel G.
Burkhardt , contractor under Improvement Resolution No. 680-1923,
C . & G. Randolph Street , 1st to 5th St. reserve due238.30.
Also the reserve due under Improvement Resolution No. 682-1923,
alley bet. Sw. 2nd & 3rd, from "C" to "D" St. $89.85
The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Declaratory
Resolution No. 186-1925, for the vacation of let alley north of
South "C" Street , from South 4th to 5th Street.
The Board approved a primary assessment roll for improvement of
the alley between-South 16th & 17th Street, by constructing a
cement roadway , from Main to South "A" Street, under Improvement
Resolution No. 756-1925.
The Board approved a primary assessment roll for improvement of
Southwest 2nd Street, by constructing cement sidewalk , curb &
gutter on east side , at vacated Howard Street, under Improvement
Resolution No. 759-1925.
The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract
under Improvement Resolution No. 763-1925, for the construction
of Storm Sewer Outlets , at S. "B" .& 2nd , S. "C" & 2nd to buildings
of Starr Piano Co., under Improvement as above . The Clerk was
directed to correspond with Starr Piano Co. , to ascertain if pos-
sible , if the same is working satisfactory .
The Board unanimously adoipte d Declaratory Resolution No. 188-1925
To widen South "J" Street, on north side 7' and 10' on south side
thereof , from South 9th Street to east line South 13th Street.
The Board unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 189-1925
To widen South "J" Street, 7 ' on north side and 10' on South side
thereof, from east side of South 13th Street , to center line of
Sec . 4, 2'wp. 13, Rnge . 1 , West .
The Board order to signs requesting citizens & tourists , to obey
the traffic signals on Main Street, from Richmond Sign System inc .
and directed the M.E.L.& P.P. upon completion of same , to place
one on west . side of C .& 0. Railroad bridge crossing Main Street;
and one to be suspended from poles just east of entrance to Glen
Miller Park, on east Main Street.

The Board directed the clerk to prepare and present the same to
Council requesting the Judge of Wayne Circuit Court , to appoint
three freeholders to appraise the brick &I stone building at corner
of North "D" & 8th Streets , used as a fire station by the city,
with a view to selling the same .

The Board decide to pay the cost of the intersections and 10%
of cost of paving for the improvement of Richmond. Avenue , from
West 5th to Sedgwick Street under Improvement Resolution No. 758-
1925 , and direct the City Engineer to notify all biders on above
improvement also on Improvement Resolution No. 775-1925, for im-
, provement of Southwest 1st Street, from National Road to South-
west "D" Street, that the city ' s portion of above improvements
will not be available until after January 1st , 1926.
Upon recommendation ff D.C.Hess 6up' t. of Light Plant , the 'Board
award the contract for the furnishing of all labor , including Yams .
Compensation Insurance , Tools and scaffolding only , ro complete brie:
setting , above foundation, on new boiler being installed at the
plant , as per their bid of ;72900.00 heretofore received , to the
cCabe Construction Company of Cincinnati , Ohio. .
Upon recommendation- of D. C. Hess Sup' t., of' Light Plant, the Board
award contract for furnishing 3 - 8" triple acting non-return valves
angle pattern for 250# working pressure and 100 degree superheat
price y'1550 .00 F. O.B. Richmond, credit allowed on 4 - 6" fig 3
valves, 1,000.00 return fr6ight to be paid by Golden-Anderson Valve
Specialty Co. , bid made by Hauer Power Equipment Co. ,contract award
ed to said Hauer Power Specialty Co. ,
Upon recommendation of D.C .Hess ,Sup' t of' Light Plant , the Board
awarded contract for material for installation of boilers as fol-
lows, to-wit : - •
