Monday May l8th, 19 25.
The Board of Pubi is Dorks of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of said Board. Monday May 18th
19 25 , a.t 9 o clock A.M. All the membe rs- of said Board , Messrs ,
?!and , McPai1 and iienley being present . The following proceedings
were had , to-wit : - - -
The Board met to hear all persons intere sted or ,•hose property
is of fe cted under Improvement peso luti o n No. 7'75-192 5, for the
improvement of Southwest 1st Btreet , by constructing cemaat curb,
gutter & sic] ev-alk 51 wide on both sid es of street and grading &
paving the roadway with one of the following kinds of modern city
pavements , to -wit : He-info or d Concre to , Sheet Asphalt , Rock-
lispha It or Bituminous Macadam ; also planting of trees on. both
both sides , from National Road to �t Southwest Street."D" ,� �I Strce �. After
hearing all persons inter este d rho appeared and no one remon-
s-trating against said. improvement . The Board decides that the
benefits to the prop erty liable to be assessed for• said improve-
merits are equal to the cost of the same as reported by the City
Civil Lngineer, thereupon take final action on said resolution , •
the same being confirmed without modification. The Clerk direct-
ed to advertise for bids on above improvement ; also Improvement
Resolution No. 75t.-1925 , for paving Richmond £ive , from 5th St.
to Sedgj.:i ck Street. .
The Board awarded the contract for me tal stop signs to the Rich •
-
mond Malleable Castings Co. , for 200 signs at 4?5.0G .6 piece , in-
cluding bolts and paint.
The Board received communication from Prof. ;;'.;,.,.Batt , stating he
would be glad to go to Richmond Tuesday May 26 , for preliminary
conference over the Loran Bridge bringing Prof. Eriksen wi th him
the City to defray the expense . The Clerk was directed to notify
Prof . Hatt. his proposition is agreeable and to report to the
City Engineer on said day & date .
The Clerk was directed to advertise for Coal to be used by the
City, at City Bldg . Hose houses , Letention Hospital arid Parks .
The Clerk was directed to notify J. H. Hipskind , to level the
arpro ache s to the bridge in West 5th Street; also in lest 5th
Street at the alley between Richmond Ave . : Chestnut Street.
The Sup' t. of Light Plant was directed to keep the ornamental
lights burning all night on May 29th & 3:0th, account of traveling
thru to races and circus • in this City on the 30th .

The Board received notice from Public Service Commission of Ind . ,
of hearing on June 3rd , 1925 10 A.M. in matter of petition of
• Richmond Light ,heat & Power Co. for authority to issue bonds .
_referred to City Lttorney. •
The Board approved the various payroll to May 16th , 1925.
Claims in amount of 4113O65.84 were allowed & ordered paid.
