Monday April- 20th , 1925.
The Board of public Works of the City of ,i'ichmond , Indiana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Monday April 20th, 1925,
at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members- of said Board , Messrs , Land , Mc-
hail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had,
to-wit : -
Permission was granted to Ewry Eikemier to cut the curb at 621 South
9th Street.
Messrs, Weichman and Haner, resident property owners in Washington
Court , appeared before the Board , requesting the city to assume the
payment for lighting system in said court, the City Attorney advised
the Board as this is private property, the City has no legal right
,to assume this expense.
Mr. Salzarulo, 'requested that lights be placed at North 13th & "I"
Street ; also, at North 18th & North"H" Street, taken under advisement,
He also complained of a pole set by the Telephone Company being in
front of lot in the alley between ibaxth Glen Court & Glen Avenue ,
at 3rd lot west of North 22nd Street . referred to Engineer.
The Board met to hear all persons interested in, or whose property
is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 772-1925, fa improve-
ment of South "I" Street, by constructing cement curb & gutter and
grading & graveling the roadway, from South 9th Street west, to the
alley. Nomone appearing or remonstrating, the Board decide that the
benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvements
are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer
and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being
confirmed without modification.
The Board me.t to hear all persons interested in, or whose property
is affected under Improvement Resolution No. 773-1925, for improve-
ment of the alley between West Main & Kinsey Street , by constructing
a cement roadway from Northwest 1st to 2nd Street. No one appearing
or remonstrating, the Board being fully advised in the premises, de-
cide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said
improvement are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City
Civil Engineer, and thereupon take final action on said resolution
the same being confirmed without modification.
The Board enter into contract with the Ohio Valley Rock Asphalt Co. ,
for not less than 150 ton or more than 200 ton of Ky. Rock-Asphalt
at p8. 50 ton f.o.b . Summitt , Ky. , less 50 ton for payment by 10th
of month after receiving same .
The Board direct the Richmond. City Water Works, to lay a 6" water
main in Southwest 1st Street , from Ma nib o :Southwest "B" Street.
The Board received communication from Roxana Petroleum Corporation
stating they had received the unsigned contracts forwarded to them
and as soon as negotiations covering the purchase of the property
mentioned was closed , they would be pleases to forward to the Board
the necessary deed and signdd contracts .

The Board unanimously adopted Improvement iiesoluti on No. 775-1925,
for the improvement of Southwest 1st Street , by grading and con-
structing cement curb , gutter and 5ft. sidewalks on both sides
thereof, and paving the roadway with one of the following kinds
of modern city pavements , to-wit : - Sheet Asphalt , hock isphalt,
Bituminous Macadam or heinforced Concrete , from ational hoad
to Southwest "D" Street.
The Board directed Mr. Hess Sup' t . , of Light Plant , to order1/
cable for extending the lighting system, in South 19th and 20th
Streets , to South "E" Street , to also have resolution prepared
for light post system of lights in aboveinamed streets.
