Thursday April 9th , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular session at the office of said. Board Thursday April 9th
1925, at 9 o' clock A.M.' All the members of said Board. Messrs,
Land , McFall and Henley , being present. The following proceedings
were had , to-wit : - .
The ten day period having expired unitier. Improvement Resolution
No. 753 & 754-1925 , for the improvement of South 19th, also South
20th Stre et , from Reevestbn Road to South "E" Street . No petition
having been received for paving the roadway in said streets , for
any oth er ma.teri al than that designate d by the Board of Publ ie
Works on March 26 , 1925 , i .e . Bituminous Macadam , the Board there-
upon confirm their former action taken under said resolutio ns ,
and award the contracts for improving said streets and paving
the roadway with Bituminous Macadam, to W. L. Magaw, he being. the
lowest bidder and being within the estimate of City Civil Engineer.
In mater of Improvement Resolution No. 758 -1925, for paving the_
roadway from Northwest 5th to Sedgwick Street, the Clark reported
a petition filed within the ten day period, requesting that said
street be paved with reinforced concrete , the petition being signed
and witnessed by a majority of the property owners residing along
said street . The Board continued action on same until Monday
Apri lm13, 1925.
The Board agree to extend water main in South 22nd Street , as
soon as Burdsall & Willett begin operations to erect bui ldings
on said. street , line to be extended from present end. to South
"B" Street.
The Board directed the 'Richmond City Water Works to extend and
lay 'a 6" Water Main in North 12th Street from North "J" Street
to the top of hill at New Paris Pike , and to place a fire hydrant
on said line to be located by Fire Chief .
The Board directed the Richmond City;Water Works, to remove the
fire hydrant from National Road & 6th Street , and install the
same at Southwest "A" & 5th Street .
The Clerk was directed to write to Sup' t. Barry of P.C.C.& St.L.
Ry. Co. , for information as to progress in matter of widening of
North "E" Street at their station, also , the signing of agree-
ment in matter of ground at new .fire stati on.
The Clerk was directed to wri to Sup't. , Derbyshire of -the C .Bc 0.
R.R. Co. as to various matters referred to him by the city.
Claims in amount of '8138 .01 were allowed. & ordered paid.
The Board then ad journed,
