Monday Agri 1 6th , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in
regular sessi on at the office of said Board Monday April 6th , 1925
at 9 o' clock A. M. A11 the members of said Board Messrs , Land ,
McPaiti and Henley being present . The following proceedings were
had, to®wit : - .
In matter of remonstrance filed against the improvement of Boyer
Street , by constructing cement curb , gutter and sidewalk on both.
sides thereof , and grading & paving the roadway with gravel and
macadam , from School to Stevens Street , under Improvement Resolution
No. 770-1925, referred to the City civi 1 engineer for investigation
The City Civil Engineer reported that there are 24 resident property
holders 15 of whom have sighed the remonstrance . There being a major-
, ity of the resident property holders who have signed said remonstrant
the Boani. directed the City Clerk to prepare a bi11 for an ordinance
ordering the improvement of Boyer Street under Improvement Resolution
No. 770-1925, and present the same to the Common Council for action
thereon, together with a letter from the Board recommending the
• improve men t and pa,s sage of the or di nance .
The Board met to he ar all persons interested, or whose property is
affected by Improvement Resolution No. 771-1925 , providing for the .
improvement of the alley between South llth & 12th Street, 'by con-
structing a cement roadway from South "P" to "G" Street. No one ap-
pe ari ng or remonstrating ; and the Board being fully adv iced in the
premises decides that the benefits to the property liable to be as-
sessed for said improvements are equal to the cost 'of same as re-
ported by the ci ty civi 1 engineer ; thereupon takes final action on
said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification.
- Permission was granted Harry Clift, upon' the payment of $20.00 to
tap the ci ty sewer at lot 32 ,West Over Addition, and up on him sign-
ing proper agreements wi th ;the City Engineering .Department .
A petition for the opening of Southwest "C" Stre et , from alley 1st
west of Southwest. 4th Street. to College Avenue , was received " and re-
fer red to Engineering Lepart meat for plans , etc . , .
A pet iti on for the vacation of the 1st alley north of South "C" St.
from South 4th to 5th Street , referred to City Plan Commission.
Permissi on was granted to W. J. Hutton to cut the curb on west side
of South 19th Street at Lot • 118,Ree ve ston Addition.
The Board appointed J. A. Bailey , Chas. D. Shi.dele r and J.P.Davenport
to appraise the real estate ne cessary to be condemned in opening
South 5th. Street , from SoutE "H" Street south.
The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids for "Motorcycle " for
us e of Police l'epartment , without sidecar .
The Board directed the Richd.City Water Works , to lay 6" water main
in South 19th Street 520 '. South 20th Stre et , 500 ' from Reeveston Rd.
south ; al so in ,W.,'!A" Street , from 9th to 11th Street .
