HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-30-1925 Offi ce of Board of Publ is Works , 07 City of Richmond , Indiana , Monday Mar ch 30th , 1925. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular sessi on at the office of said Board Monday March 30th 1925, at 9 o` clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land , McFail and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit : - - The Board approved the contract and bond of Harold Tharp, contract- or under Improvement Resolution No. 757-1925; also Improvement Reso- lution No. 768-1925. The Board approved the contract & bond of John F. Hipskind, contract- or under Improvement Resolution No. 760-1925. The Board approved the contract & bond . of Z.B. Pyle & Co. contractors under Improvement Resolution No. 763-1925. The Board met to hear all persons interested under Improvement Reso- lution No. 769 -1925, for the improvement of the alley between Main & Southwest "A" Street, by constructing cement roadway from Southwest 7th to 8th Street. No one appearing or remonstrating , the Board be- ing fully advised in the premises , decide that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said impr ovement s are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and there- upon takes final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without modification. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 774 -1925, for the improvement of the alley between South llth & 12th Stre et by constructing cement roadway from South "G" to "H" Street. The Board received communication from the. City Civil Engineer, re- que sting that the sewer i n South "A" Stre et at the all ey between . 16th & 17th Street , be repaired before paving said alley, the Board directed the Street Commissio ner to make said repairs . The Board deci de that the portable gasoline pumps & tanks being used by some of the dealers in the ci ty as filling stations , are a menace to public safety and an obstruction on the sidewalks, & directed the Clerk to notify the various Oil & Gasoline Companies that th ese portable tanks are as above stated, and would not be permitted to be used , and if any of the same are owned by them to have same removed at once and to also notify the Sup' t. , of Police to noti fy any dealer usi ng such pumps and tanks to remove the same from their premises. Permission was granted The Starr Piano Co., to erect a fence along South 5th Stre et along the old dumping ground , belonging to the City, to prevent any further dumping on these grounds .
