The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular se;lsion at the office of said Board Thursday March 26th, 1925, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land , McFai l and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to -wit I/ Permission was granted C . A. Blair to cut the curb for driveway on east side of North 21st Street, Lot No. 49 , W. D. Foulke , Add. , Permission was granted A. C. Underhill , to construct a cement side- walk under private contract , on west side of North 19th Street at Lots 1, 2 & 3, Hig1land, Addition. The Board approved a primary assessment roll of benefits & damages under Declaratory Resolution No. 185-19.25, for the widening of ". the alley between State & Williams Street , from Northwest 2nd to Boyer Street . The Clerk was instructed to notify J. H. Fulle Park Sup' t . , to place more benches and trash receptacles in South 10th Street Park. and not to place any tables in the park this season. The Board received bids , for the improvement of Southn20th Street by constructing cement curb, gutter & sidewalks and grading & pav- ing the roadway with one of the following kinds of pavements ,Sheet- Asphalt , Bituminous Macadam, Reinforced Concrete or Rock Asphalt ; also planting of trees , from Reeveston 'Road to South "E" Street under Improvement Resolution No. 753-1925, as follows , to-wit: " W. L. MaGaw, bid ; Street complete as per specifications--Bit..Mae:--- 19 . 75 lin-foot. The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , bid ; Street complete , using sheet asphalt- -$21. 53 lin-foot r' " " bituminous macadam 21. 13 " " " " concrete paving 21.40 TT " John F. Hipskind, bid ; Street complete using Bituminous macadam : 21.98 tin-foot II `ayes Construction Co. , bid ; Street complete , using Bituminous macadam $23.40 lin-ft. The Board thereupon designate said street be paved with Bitumi- nous macadam, and make preliminary award to W.L. The Board thereupon designate said South 19th Street , be paved with Bituminous Macadam, and make preliminary award to "W. L. Magaw. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 756-1925. for improving the alley between South 16th & 17th Street, by con- structing cement roadway from Main to South "A" Street , as follows, " Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ; Cement roadway complete $0. 19R per sq-foot . " W. L. Magaw, bid ; Cement roadway complete $0.204rc. per sq-foot . Burkhardt, being the lowest received, the contract was so awarded . The Board received bids under Improvement resolution No. 757-1925, for construction of cement sidewalks 4. ft. ride on both sides of Crosshall Street , from Grant to School Street as follows , to-wit : - " Harold Tharp, bid ; cross walks. 27 square foot Cement sidewalk 4U ft . wide `00. 19 . 7 per sq-foot . The bid of Harold Tharp, being the hwest and within the estimate of the City Civil Engineer, the contract was so awarded. - The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 758 -1925. for the improvement of Richmond Ave. by paving the roadway with Reinforced Concrete ; Sheet Asphalt ; hock Asphalt or Bituminous- Macadam, from Northwest 5th Street to Sedgwick Street -as follows : - " W. The Board now designate Bituminous Macadam for paving said street and make preliminary award to "W. L. Magaw , the lowest & best bidder. 205 Thursday March 26th, 1925. No bid received under Improvement Resolution No. 759-1925. The Board received bids under Improvement Resolution No. 760-1925 for the improvement of National Road, by constructing cement side walk, curb , gutter,parkways curb , and grading the roadway, planting of trees & seeding lawn spaces, from Southwest 1st to 2nd Street as follows, to:wit : - " John F. Hipskind, being the lowest and within the esti- mate of the engineer, the contract was so awarded. The Board received bids , for the furnishing & planting of trees , uncle] Improvement resolutions, No. ' s , 764-765-766 & 767 , in Reeveston Road South 18th, 19th and 21st Streets , as follows to-wit : W. E. Cavender , bid : _ - 11 Red Oak; Norway Maple ; Oriental Plane; American Elm; English Elm; Red Maple or Linden Trees , any of above variety, 49.85 Each with 2" X 2" X 9 ' wood stake with hose in place , . 50 each. All bids being above the estimate of the City Civil Engineer the same were rejected. The Board received bids for the improvement of North 14th Street, by constructing cement sidewalks on both sides of street , from North "F" to "J" Street , under Improvement Resolution No. 768-1925 as follows , to-wit : - (See other side for bids. ) 206 Thursday march 26th, 1925.
