Monday March 23rd, 1925.
The Board of Public Worim of the City of Richmond , Indiai , met
in regular session at the office of said Board , Monday March 23rd,
1925, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land,
McFai 1 and Henley, bei ng present . The following proceedings were
had, to-wit : -
Permission was granted C. A. Commons to cut the curb for dri veway
at 412 South 23rd Street .
11/Permission was granted M. E. Mason to tap sewer to man-ho le in
National Road , at Lot #2 , Rose Hill , Addition.
Comes Now Dickinson Trust Co. , & Tilie T. H. I. & E. Traction Co. by
its attorney and fi le objections and remonstrance against the im-
provement of the alley between Southwest 4th & 5th Street, from
Southwest "D" Street north to the north terminal of the alley;
thence east to Southwest 4th Street, under Improvement Resolution
No. 749-1924, as heretofore confirmed by the Board of Public Works
said remonstrance being signed by 19 property owners whose property
abuts said proposed improvement. The matter being referred to the
City Attorney, who reported that more than 50% of the lot owners
had signed. said remonstrance stating that the cost of impru vement
will exceed the benefits to 'the real estate , considering the char-
acter and the value of the real estate The City Attorney stated -
that if this is true , the ci ty would be co+6pelled to pay the dif
. fe rence in the cost of the improvement beta; een the contract and. the
trail benefits as may be decided by the Court . Mr. Henley then moved "
all proceedings heretofore had under said Improvement Resolution
No. 749 -1924. , be rescinded motion unanimously prevailed.
.The Board unanimously ad opted Improvement Resolution No. 774-1925
to improve the alley between Main & Kinsey Street , from NW. 1st
to 2nd Street.
Upon the recommendation of Chas. Lyons ,Street Commissioner, the
Board awarded the contract for two lton Ford trucks to the W.E.
McWhinney Co. , at the it bid pri ce of -$1464 .50
Upon the recommendation of Wm.F.Eversman,Sup' t. of Police , The -
Board awarded ®the contract for touring car to the Dalbey Motor
Sales Co. , for Chevrolet Touring Car , for police department use
at their bid price $496 . 95.
A petition for extension of water main in Southwest "A" Street
signed 'by Katherine Thomas & 8 others , was received , and referred •
to Richmond City Water Works for investigation & report .
• Harry Stillinger appeared before the Board requesting a drinking
fountain be placed in Starr Park, Engineer was directed to secure
prices on 5, drinking fountains.
The Board then adjourned,
