Thursday March 5th , 1925.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met
in regular session at the offi ce of said Board Thursday March
5th , 1925, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said. Board Messrs,
Band , McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings
- were had , to-wit : -
In matter of Improvement Resolution No. '755-1925 , providing for
cement roadway in the aley between North "H" & "I" Stre et , from •
North 8th to 10th Str eet . The City Civil Engineer, reported that
there are 12 resident property owners residing along line of said
improve men t 7 of whom have si gne d the rem onstra nee . The Board on
motion deci de that as the remonstrators are in the mr.j or. ity, to
rescind said resolution.
In matter of improvement of the alley betw een South 16th & 17th
• Str eet, from South "A" to Main Street and for first alley south of
Main Street , from' South 16th Street east to alley , as provided for
under Improvement Resolution No. 756-1925 , as confirmed February
23rd , 1925, a rem ons trance hav ing be en filed vi thin the ten day
peri od the' Engineer reported that there is 55 resident property
owners residing along the line of said improvements• , 15 pyf w1hom
have signed a remonstrance against said improvement , the •OVe'rrule
said rem onstra nce , and deci de that the 2�' `Et. ..2ci tali zzint-
benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements
are equal to the cost of same as reported by the City Civil Engi -

neer, and thereupon take fi nal action on said resolution the same '
being confirmed by modification to strike out the first alley south
of Main Street , from South 16th 'Street; east to -alley ; the resolut-
ion being confirmed as modi.fie d.
Pursuant to continuance to this. date the Board met, to hear all per-
sons interested or whose .property is affected by Improvement Reso-
lution No. 749-1924, providing for the improvement of the alley be-
tween Southwest 4th & 5th- Street , by constructi ng. a. cement roadway
from Southwest "D" Street to the north terminal of alley; thence
east to Southwest 4th Str eet . After hearing all persons interested
who appeared. The Beard-decide that the benefits to the prop rty
liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost
- of same . as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon take
final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed without
modification
The Board met to hear all persons interested, or whose property is .
.affected under Improvement Resolution Tdo. 764-1925, for the improve-
ment of Reeve ston Road , by planting of trees and seeding. lace spaees
from South 18th to 23rd Street. After hearing all persons interested
The Board decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed
for said improvement are equal to the cost of same , and thereupon
take final action thereon, the resolution being modifi ed by striking
out seeding the lawns, and confirmed as modified. .

The Board met to hear all persons interested or whose property
is affected under Improvement l esolutior_ No. 765-1925 , for the
improvement of South 18th Street, by planting trees & seeding
lawn spaces , from South"B"to "E" Street. No one appearing , the
Board deci de that the benefits to property liable to be assessed •
for said improvements are equal to the cost of same , and the re-
upon take fi nal acti on on said resolution the same being confirm-
ed by striking out seeding the lawn spaces.
The Board met to he ar all persons interested or whose property
is affected by Improvement Resolution No.• 766-1925 , for improve
orient of South 19th Street , by planting of trees & seeding lawn
spaces, from South "B" St. to Reeve ston isoad . No • one appearing
the Board decide that the benefi is to property liable to be as-
sessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same . and
the reupon take fi nal action on said re so luti o n, the same being
. modified to strike out seeding the lawn spaces , the said reso-
luti on being confirmed as modified. •
The Board met to hear all_ persons interested, or whose property
is affected by Improvement resolution No. 767-1925, for improve -
ment of South 21st Street , by planting of trees & seeding lawn
spaces, from South "B" to "B" Street . No one appearing the Board
decide that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for
• said improvements are equal to the cost of same and thereupon take
final acti on on said resolution, the same being modified to strike
out seeding the lawn spaces , the resolution was confirmed as
modified.
Pursuant to conti nuance the Board met to hear all persons inter-
ested or whose property is affected by the improvement of the
National 'Road , by constructing cement curb , gutter. , sidewalks
grading and raving the roadway , planting of trees & seeding the
lawn spaces , (Pvi ng Sheet Asphalt ; Bituminous Macadam; Bituminous
Concre to or Rock Asphalt ) . from Southwest 1st to 2nd Stre et '
under Improve rent iesoluti_on No. 760 -192F . The Board after view-
ing the premis es , decide that the be ne fi is to the property liable
tc9 be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of
same as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and. thereupon take
final acti on on said resolution, the same being modified to con-
struct cement sidewalks, 'curb, gutters , parkways, grading road-
way & plan timg of trees & seeding lawn spaces between the points
named , and. as so modified was unanimously confirmed.
The T. H. I. & E. Ti cti.o n Co. were granted permission to set
cars for loading_ at south end factories.
The. Richmond City Water works were inst ructe d la.y water main to
new hose house north of rai lroad
The Fire Chief was dir ecte d to inspect and report as to the fir e
hydrants located at National Tool Co. , and. automotive Gear Co. ,
and report as to whether the same are properly located , also as
to needs of fire alarm box petitioned for by National Automatic
Tool Company. •

The Board entered into agreement wi th property owners resi ding
in Fire District . Number; Eleven (11.) being the property facing
North 10th Street , from Spring Grove Corporation Limits to , and •
includi ng Chester., Indiana . They having deposited the sum of
5 50 .00 with the City Controller, to cover the minimum price fixed
for first call Or fi rst hour per company responding to an alarm
fire coming from said district . The City agreeing to respond to
illall alarms of fire coming from said di strict. The property owners

agreeing to maintain at all times the sum of ti 50.00 on deposit
with the City. Controller, to insure the good fai th of said dis-
trict .
The City Att orne.y was directed to look into the matter and report
to the Board , as to whether the City can compel the T. H. I. & E
Traction Co. , to remove their poles from South. "Q" Street ,. which
has recently been annexed to the City of Richmond , Indiana , also
as to whether the County Auditor is having the terri tory annexed
• placed on the City tax duplicate . Also, as to • whether the City
can have pattern made and construct stop signs si milar to the
ones now placed cri the ci t� ' s stre.ets .
