RESOLUTION NO. 1537
WHEREAS, The Village of Plainfield is centrally located in~the fastest growing area of the State
of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village wishes to insure that health care is available for its residents while also
improving access to health care for residents and the greater region; and
WHEREAS, Edward Hospital and Health Services has submitted a certificate-of--need
application to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board to build the proposed ld2-bed Edward
Plainfield Hospital at 1.27t'' Street and Van Dyke Road; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Edward Plainfield Hospital will improve access to health care, place
the hospital beds where they are needed most, and provide emergency services where they are
desperately needed as well as provide services for the mentally ill and uninsured mothers; and
WHEREAS, the Village and its residents overwhelmingly support this proposal and wish to
show their continued support for Edward Plainfield Hospital; and
WHEREAS, as elected officials, the Plainfield Village Board recognizes the importance of
providing excellent health care to the community
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Village of Plainfield continues to
strongly support the Edward Plainfield Hospital application and project.
