ROUTE 30 IN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF PLAINFIELD FEST THURSDAY, JULY 19, 2007 AT $:00 A.M. THROUGH SUNDAY, JULY 23, 2007 MIDNIGHT WHEREAS, the Park District desires to hold their Annual Plainfield Fest an a portion of U. S. Route 30 between Route 59 west to Fox River Street on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday, July 23, 2007 at midnight; and, WHEREAS, said ,Plainfield Fest will require the closing of Route 30 completely between the east junction with Illinois Route 59 and the west junction with DesPlaines Street; and, WHEREAS, said Plainfield Fest will require the detouring of traffic bath east and westbound on Lockport Street (U.S. Rt. 30); and, WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the Village to assume all responsibility and liability involved in the closing of said highway. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Village of Plainf eld will provide supervision for the direction, protection and regulation of traffic during the time the detour is in effect occasioned by the closing of State Route, and usage of 143rd Street, a Will County jurisdiction road. 2. It is further agreed that efficient, all weather detours will be maintained conspicuously marked and judiciously police patrolled for the benefit of traffic deviated from the State Route. 3. The alternate route will be to continue Route 30 North on Route 59 to 143rd Street, then west to Route 30. Detour signs will be posted for both northbound and southbound traffic. Lo~:kport Street Plainfield, Illinois 60{44 Dear Mr. Minick: The Plainfield Park District is requesting the Village of Plainfield to grant street closures for the 2007 Plainfield Fest. These closures include: Thursday, July 19, 2007 8:00 a.m. Chicago Street -between Des Plaines and Fox River Des Plaines Street -between Lockport and Ottawa Village Parking Lot -adjacent to Andreaserl Travel & Tours 5:00 p.m. Lockport Street -between, Fox River and Route S9 Lockport Street would reopen at Midnight on Sunday, July 22, 2007. All other streets would reopen at SAO a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007 This staggered schedule of street closings was used in 2004 and allowed .for an orderly and timely sat-up to occur. Manning James Racich Enclosed is a certified copy of Resolution No. 1527 adopted by the Mayor and Board of Trustees on March 5, 2007 for the closing of a portion of U. S. Route 30 between Route S9 west to Fox River Street on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. through Sunday, July 23, 2007 at midnight for the annual Plainfield Fest. Numerous vendors, businesses and artists from outside our community plan on this event each year, and several thousand dollars are expended for promotion and deposit for material and services.
