RESOLUTION NO. 1517
RECOGNIZING THE HERITAGE CORRIDOR CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU AS
THE AGENCY TO PROMOTE CONVENTION AND TOURISM BUSINESS IN THE
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD
WHEREAS, the Heritage Corridor Convention & Visitors Bureau is a not for profit organization
established for the purpose of promoting convention and tourism business in the region, and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Plainfield wishes to encourage the promotion of convention and tourism
business to stimulate economic development, improve job opportunities, and to stimulate business
relating to tourism;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Plainfield recognize the Heritage
Corridor Convention & Visitors Bureau as the official agency to promote convention and tourism
business on the behalf of the Village of Plainfield.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village of Plainfield hereby authorizes the Heritage
Corridor Convention & Visitors Bureau to receive any funding for the purpose of promoting
convention and tourism business which may be made available.

To remain incompliance with State of Illinois rules and regulations and to continue to
receive state grant funds to promote the Village of Plainfield and the Illinois & Michigan
Canal National Heritage Corridor as a tourist destination we annually seek recertification
from our service area.
Therefore, we are enclosing a clerk's certificate for a resolution for your board's approval
to be executed and sealed by the clerk that will certify the attached resolution is a true
and correct copy in your safekeeping and has in no way been altered, amended or
rescinded.
We would appreciate your prompt attention to our request and ask that you return all
documents to our office as soon as possible.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Village of Plainfield.
