HomeMy Public PortalAbout1986-06-17 Special Town Election Report of the SPECIAL TOWN ELECTION June 17, 1986 In accordance with the warrant the inhabitants of the Town of Brewster quali - fied to vote in the Town Election met, at the Brewster Community Center, Tuesday , June 17 , 1986 . The polls were declared open at 7 : 00 A. M . The election workers duly sworn were , Dorothy Grenier, Warden , Ruth Hanlon , Deputy Warden , J . Ogden Tyldsley , Jr. , Clerk , Doris Powell , Deputy Clerk , Helen Allen , Althea Alling , Alfred Robinson , William Nielson , Eleanor Nielson , Mildred Magee , Dorothy Pendergast, Edward Sabatini , Phyllis Cossand , Janet McManus , Kitty- Lou Campbell , Helen Brandon and Violet Bishop . The polls closed at 8 : 00 P . M . The total number of votes cast were 756 . QUESTION 1 : "Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to exempt from the provisions of Proposition 2 '/2 , so-called , the total amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to finance the purchase of the property owned by Carleton S . Francis I I I for conservation and related purposes , as voted in Article 97 , at the Annual Town Meeting of May 12 , 1986 , and other expenses incidental thereto?
