HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-02-1924 4. Office -of Board of Public Works , City of Richmond, Indiana, Thursday `October 2nd , 1924. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana, met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday October 2nd, 1924, at 9 o'clock A. M. All the members of said Board, Messrs, Land, McFail and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit: - The Board granted permission to Elmer E. Towle, to cut the curb --at 724 West Main Street for driveway. The Board received communication from Mr. D.C.Hess, Sup`t. of M.E. M. & P. P. in regards to changing counter and desks, to give more room to the public and patrons of the plant, stating that the change together with floor covering, repairing walls painting ceiling and walls would cost approximately $1470.50 other miscellaneous items of expense will cost about $300.00 or approximately ?1800.00, he reported that there would be about $800.00 -or $1000.00 in the office appropriation which would not be used this year, and requested the Board recommend an appropriation of $1,000.00 additional that this work may be started and finished this year, the Board on motion direct that an ordinance for appropriating $1000.00, be prepared & presented to Council at their next meeting. The Board met to hear remonstrances, if any of persons primarily as- sessed under Improvement ResolutionnNo. 707-1924, for improvement of North "E" Street , by constructing cement sidewalk except where al- ready laid, cement curb &-gutter both sides of street and paving the roadway with.. sheet asphalt , from North 16th to 24th Street . No one remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll, con- firming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 724-1924, far the improve- ment of North 13th Street , by constructing cement curb, gutter on both sides', sidewalk on east side and paving roadway with Brict from the P.C.C.& St.L . Jiailroad tracks to North "F" Street. No one remonstrating, the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirm- ing the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department of finance. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily as- sessed under Improvement Resolution No.727-1924 , for improvement of North 19th Street, by paving the roadway with sheet asphalt and con- structing cement curb & gutter except where already laid from North "E" to "G" Street. No one remonstrating the Board approved a final assessment roll, confirming the original assessment roll heretofore approved, arid now direct the same be transmitted forthwith to the Department ofFinance . City Attorney was directed to take proper proceedings to compel the removal of gasoline pump from North 7th Street L.N.Cox property. The Board approved the various payrolls up to October let , 1924.
