The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indi ana, met in
regular session at the office of said Board Thursday • September 11th , •
1924, at 9 o clock A. M. All the members of klid Board hies era , wand,
McPail and Henley .being al esent . The following proceedings were
had , to--wit :
The B oa rd met to hear remonstrance s if any, of persons primarily
assessed under Improvement itiesoluti.on No. 698-1923, for the improve -
• ment of forth 20th Street, by constructing cement curb , gutter and
sidewalk; and of paving the roadway vi th Sheet Asphalt , from Main to
North "E" Street. No remonstrance having. been• fi led , the Board ap-
proved a fi nal assessment ro11 confirming the on ginal' assessment x
ro11 as_ heretofore approved , and now direct the same be transmitted
f_o rth.wi th to the 'epartmen t of Finance .
The Board approved primary assessment roles under the following Im-
provement resolutions named, viz : Improvement Resolution No .707-1924
for improvement of North "N" Street, by constructs rig: cement curb , gut-
te r, sidewalk and pavi ng ro adw ay with asphalt from North 16 th to 24 th
Street . Improvement Resolution No. 724-1924, for improvement of North
13th Street, by constructing cement curb & gutters on both sides, cem-
ent walks on east sic e and paving the roar:ay r:i th brick , from P. C.
C. & St.1-J.Railroad tracks to North "F" Street. Improvement Resolution
No. 727-1924, for improvement of North. 19th Stre et, by cen-nt curb 8.7
gutter on both sid es from railroad bridge to North "G" Stre et and
paving roadway with asphalt from North "E" to '°G" Street.
In order to eliminate the- ccndi_ti.ans existing on Hawkins road near
the resi dence of Frank Strayer, The Street Commissioner & Engi neer
were instructed to construct inlet on north side of street and to
extend sewer 8 additional lengths of pipe , and construct a grate
inlet on south side of said road .
The Clerk was directed to .notify the Municipal Traffic Post C o. of
the fact that the wire bei ng used on posts installed in this ci ty
is of the B.X.wi re which is not the kind of wire to use on this kind
of work
The Board received letter from City Ilan Commissi on, in reference to
the installation of traffic posts , t^.h i ch was referred to City Atty.
The City attorney , reported that the Board. of Works which is also the
Board. of Public Safety in this City , had a perfect ri ght to enter in-
to contract with the Municipal Traffic Post Co. for installing the
traffic posts in this ci ty , as has been done .
The Clerk reported the fi ndi ngs of Public Service Commi ssi on, permit-
ting the City to borrow 5 <:0 ,000. from the & P. Fund , as pet-
i oned. for .
Claims in amount of % 11, 661 . 98 were allowed & ordered paid.
