HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-18-1924 1 28 Office of Board of Publ is Works , City of Richmond , Indi ana, Monday August 18th, 1924. The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board Monday August 18th , 1924, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board , Messrs , Land ; McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to-Wit : - The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 698-1923, for the improvement of North 20th Street, by constructing cement curd, gutter & sidewalk both sides and paving the roadway with Sheet-Asphalt from Main- to North "E" Street. The Board accepted the same and ordered assessment roll prepared. The City Civi.l Engi neer reported the completion of contract under Improvement Resolution No. 730-1924, for improvement of 1st alley west of North 10th Street , by cement roadway from North "I" Street north to 1st alley . The Board accepted the same and approved a primary assessment roll for said improvement . The Board approved primary assessment rolls for the following im- provements , to-wit : - " Impr ovement Resolution No. 700-1924, for cement s id ewalk on south side of North "D" Street , from North 20th to 22nd Street. " Improvement Resolution No. 731 -1924, for improvement of North 19th Street, by paving the roadway with sheet asphalt , from North "C" to "E" Street. " Improvement Resolution No. 736-1924. For the improvement of North 19th Street , by paving the roadway with sheet asphalt , from Main to North "C" Street . The Board approved contract and bond of Daniel G. Burkhardt , under Improvement Aesolut io n No' s. 746 & 748 -1924. The Board approved the contract & bond of E. A. Mariani, contract- or under Improvement Resolution No. 747-1924. Chas . McGuire , was granted permission to cut the curbs in parkways in South 18th Street for eTnitrance driveway to his property, he to place curbs & turn-outs and all other work incidental thereto, in proper condition, all at his own expense and without any expense to the City° of any kind whatsoever. The Clerk was directed to notify Mr. Shalley, to ap,ear before the Board at their next meeting, in water of gasoline pump installed by him in Elm Place between North 9th & 10th Streets . The Clerk was directed to notify the Trustees of Home of Friend- less women, to remove cement ash box from the alley back of the Home , as the same extends into the all ey approximately 18"inches. Minor Coleman, was granted permission to lay tile under the side- walk at 731 North 13th Street. The Clerk was directed to notify Garland Willetts , to construct proper turn-out or circle curb at driveway on Pearl Street near West 5th Street . I 29 Nronday August 18th, 1924. The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primari ly assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 690-1923, for construct- ing ce ment s id ewalks both sides of North "G" Street, from North • 12th to 15th Street . No one remonstrating, the Board approved a -final assessment ro11 confirming the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forth- with to the Depart me nt of Finance . The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily • assessed under Improvement Resolutic n No.703-1924, for cement road- way in alley between South 7th & 8th Stre et , running from South"L" • Street north to alley ; thence east tobSouth 8th Street. No one re- monstrating, the Board app roved final assessment roll confirming the original assessment ro11 as heretofore confirmed, and now order the same transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance . The Board. met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.711-1924. for improvement of North "A" Str. ee t, by constructi ng cement curb , gutter, sidewalks both sides and concretebroadway, from North 3rd Street to Fort-Wayne • Avenue . No one remonstrating , the Board approved final assessment roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as here- tofore approved, and now direct the same be transmitted forthwi th to the Depart ment of Finance . The Board met to hear remonstrances if any, of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 717-1924. for improvement - of alley between South 7th-&n8th Stre et,rby cement roadway from South "F" to "G" Street. No one remonstrating, the Board approved final assessment roll , confirming the priginal assessment roll as hereto fore approved, and nev, direct the same be transmitted for th- wi th to the J-'epart ment of Finance . The Board met to hear remonstrances. if any, of persons primari ly , assessed under Improvement Resolution No. 733-1924, for improvement of 1st alley south of National Road , from 2nd to 3rd Street; also alley between SW.2nd & 3rd, from 1st all ey south of National Road to Southwest "C" Street , cement roadway. No one remonstrating, the Board approved final assessment ro11 confirming the original assess- ment roll as heretofore approved, and now direct the same be trans-- mitted forthwith to the Department of Finance. The Board met to heer remonstrance of persons primarily assessed under Improvement Resolution No.734-1924. for ce ment roadway in al- ley between North 8th & 9th Street , from North "C" to "D" Stre et . No one remonstrating , the Board approved final asses sment roll con- ' firming the original assessment roll heretofore approved, and direct the same be transmitted to the Department of Finance. " The Board authorize Chas. Lyons Street Commissioner to attend St. Commissioners convention at expense .of City.
