The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indiana , met in regular session at the office of said Board Thursday August 14th, 1924 , at 9 o clock -A. M. All the members of said- Board , Messrs , Land, McFall and Henley being present . The following proceedings were had , to -wit : - petition was received for the improvement of Southwest 5th Street by constructing cement aidewall 5' wide , 'curb & gutter on both sides of street & grading & Gravel. roadway, from Southwest "C" to • "E" Street.- same was referred to Engineer for plans for 1925. Petition for opening of Southwest "C" Street, from 4th Street to College Avenue , was taken under advisement. The City civil Engineer reported the completion of contracts under resolutions named as follows, to -wit : - Improvement Resolution No. 700-1924 , for cement sid ewalks 6' wide on south side of North "D" Street, from North 20th to 22nd Street; Improvement Resolution No. 731-1924, for paving North 19th Street with Sheet Asphalt , from North "C" to "E" Street. the Board accept said contracts , and order assessment rolls prepared. Pursuant to adverti sement, the Board received bids for printed forms to be used by the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant as fol- lows ; WOO Form 4r1-3500 No. 8 ; 4000 # 9 , 2000 Form 34 , 2000 # 52; 1000 # 26 , 5000 #58 ; & 2000 # 60. " The J. M. Coe Printing Co. , bid ; - Form Nos. 7 , 8 & 9 $85.50 ; #34-$9 .25 ; ,#52-$5.25 ; #26-$19. 50 ; #58-;�29.50 & 60-536 .00 Total bid $185.00 " Nicholson Printinf Company, bid #7 ,8 & 9--089.50 ; #34-08.00; .152-ti 6.50 ; `26 -021 .95; #50-029 .90 & #60--07 .85. Total bid--- -- - - $193. 70 . " G. 0. Ballinger Co. , bid ; #7, 8 & 9--090.00; #34- p8.53 ; ##52--; 6. 75; #26-- 22. 00; #58- 027 .50; #60-- ;34150 Total bid - $189.25 . The bid of The J. M. Coe Printing Co. , being the lowest , the contract was warded to said J. L . Coe Printing Co. , The Board received bids for Light Posts and equipment for Light post system in South 18th Street and South 21st Street, from Reeves- ton Road to South "E" Street , as follows, to-wit : - "':'Marion Machine & Foundry & Supply Co. , Marion, Ind .,. bid : 10-Figure #1, 18 " base 10i to 15' high Narion, posts , same to be complete with foundation bolts & properly wired & painted--$450.00 10-Figure #2, 19" base add $100.00 additional l0-Octagio nal Junior Reflectolux Tops , complete wi th Mogul Socket for 300 & .500 W. multiple lamps for Series Type"C" lamps and Auto Transformers, Westinghouse Style 351 , 327 price $350 .00 Item 3 & 4, 10-Combined Safety Coil & disconnecting Pot Heads for 6. 6 Amp. 60 cycle ci rcuits, 15 Amp. secondary circuit Westinghouse Style No. 351 , 453--Price $250 .00 or Total :,$1,050 .00, # 1, post & $1150 .00 #2 post . f. o .b .Richmond , There being but one bid received, the Board reject the same and directed the Clerk to re-advertise for bids on said posts and • equi pment. Thursday August 14th , 1924 . The Board authorized and directed Mr. D. C. Hess , Sup°t. , of • the Municipal Electric Lighti ng & Power Plarit , to purchase from the Grouse-Hinds Company of Syracuse, N. Y. Six of their four- . way traffic signals sus pens ion type , wi th automatic timing and manual control switches and si gnal bells attached, and to in- stall the same at the intersections on Main Street, wi th 5th, 6th , 7th, 8th , 9th and 10th Streets , The said system and lab or connected the rewi th to be paid for out of the Municipal Electric Lighting & Power Plant Funds , the_. same to be purchased and in- stalled subject to 90 days tri al from date of installation. The City of Richmond, Indi ana, to enter into contract for pay- ment of same to said M.E.L. & P. P. at a later date .
