The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond , Indi ana., met in regular session at the office of said. Board. Monday August llth 1924, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land , McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had, to-wit : - _ _ The Board received communication from W. Graves, Chief Engineer of the T. H. I. E. Traction Co. , that he accepts the offer of the City, in matter of additional cost of using brick stretcher along their right of way in West 5th Street paving improvement agreeing to pay one-half said additional cost of200.00. The Richmond City Water Works , were instructed to extend their water main in Ratliff Street , from present main to Stevens Street and run servi ce s to curb at vario us lots . _ The City Civil Engineer, reported the completion of contract un- der Improvement Resolution No. 736-1924, for paving North 19th St. with Asphalt from Main to North "C" Str eet. The Board accepted the same and ordered assessment roll prepared. The Board directed Fire Chief E. E. Hiller, to attend. the Fire Chiefs Convention to be held at Buffalo , N. Y. August , 19th to 24th , 1924. , legitimate expenses to be paid by the. City , out of Fire Department Miscellaneous expenses. The Board received bids for improvement of the alley 1st north of South "E" Street, from South 6th Street east to alley , under Im- provement Resolution No. 746-1924, as follows to-wit :- Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ; Cement roadway complete -- .21,4 sq-ft. 6" sewer connections , 54.25 ft. E. A. Mariani , bid ; Cement roadway--. 22V sq-ft . 6" sewer connections.--6'2.50 lin-ft. " Schnieder Bros . , bid; Cement roadway—. 26 sq-ft. 6" sewer connections.-- 2.00 tin-ft . " Z. B. Pyle & Co . , bid ; Cement roadway- .- .27 sq-ft .6" sewer connections--y2. 11 ,tin-ft . The bid. of Daniel" G. Burkhardt, being the lowest and within the estimate of ci ty civil engineer, contract was so awarded. The Board received bids, for construction of sidewalks on west side of N.16th St, from N. "F" St. to river and on east side from N. "J" St. to river, under Improvement Resolution No. 747-1924, as fol- lows, to -wit : - " E. A. Mariani , bid ; Six foot cement sidewalk---- .20 sq-foot 8 " Daniel G. Burkhardt , bid ; Six foot cement sidewalk . 202 sq-foot " Z. B. Pyle & Co. , bid ; Six foot sidewalk . 20 .9 sq-ft. " Schnieder Bros. , bid ; Six foot sidewalk . 23 7/8 sq-foot.
