The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session at- the office of said Board Thursday July 31st , 1924, at 9 o' clock A.M. All the members of said Board Messrs , Land, _ McFall and Henley being present. The following proceedings were had , to-wit :- • The City Civil Engineer rep orted the completion of contracts under Improvement 11esolutions as named, to-wit : - _ Improvement Resolution No. :690-1923, for constructing cement side- walks on both sides of North "G" Street, from 12th to 15th Street the Board accepted the same and approved a primary assessment roll covering the cost thereof. • Improvement Resolution No. 734-1924, for improvement of the alley between North.. 8th & 9th Street, by constructing cement roadway , from North "C" to "D" Street. The Board accepted the same and ap • - proved a primary assessment roll covering the cost thereof. The Board approved primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 703-1924, for improvement of alley between- South 7th & 8th Street , by cement roadway from South "L" Street to north termi- nous of alley; thence east to South 8th Street. • The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- • lution No. 711-1924, for the improvement of North "A" Street , by constructing cement sidewalks, curb & gutter both s id.eu of street • and paving the r oadw:ay wi th concrete , from North 3rd. Street to Fort Wayne avenue . The Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- lution No. 717 -1924, for improvement of alley between South 7th & 8th Street , by constructing cement roadway from South "F" to "G" Street. • The .Board approved a primary assessment roll under Improvement Reso- - lution No. 733-1924, for improvement of the 1st alley south of Nat- ional Road, from SW.2nd to 3rd St; also, alley between SW.2nd & 3rd Street, by constructing cement roadway from said 1st alley south of National Road to SW. "C" Street , & from SW.2nd to 3rd Street. In matter of revising final assessment roll heretofore' approved for ornamental light posts in Reeveston Streets, same was referred. to City attorney for proper costs to be assessed against property. The Board direct the Street Co,_imissioner to measure the amount of fence required to install new fence at disposal plant in Earlham grounds. • Oliver Nusbaum, was granted permission to construct flue on North 7th Street side of building at corner of said 7th & Main Street the same not to extend to exceed 4" from present wall. A petition. was received for ,cement roadway in the alley_ between North "H" & "I" Street , from North 8th to 10th Street; held for next seasons work. Thursday duly 31st , 1924. 121 The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids , for printed supplies for M.E.L.& P.P. • Permission wasgranted Hall & Taylor to cut the curb at 1134 North 12th Street. Permission was granted D.W.Walters to cut the curb at 107 S. 9th St. In matter of communication received from E.M.Haas, et-al , as to im- proving roads in Glen Miller Park and bond issue therefore, the same was referred to Common Council. The Clerk was directed to notify City School Board , to clean the mud from 1st alley south of Main Street, from 22s1 to 23rd Street, and repair the banks on their ground to keep soil from washing into alley Upon the recommendati on of Sup't. , D.C.Hess, the Board award the con- tract for open feed water heater, to Irvin C. DeHaven Engineering Co. for H. S.B.Cochrane 3500 H.P. Feed Water Heater as per their biddof $2, 148-.00 f.o.b. Richmond , Indiana. The Clerk was directed to prepare resolution to present to the Common Council, . for appraisers to appraise the old feed water heater at M. E.L.& P.P. with a vi ew to selling the same. Also to prepare an ordi- nance appropriating the sum of $120. 60 from Light Plant funds to pay cost of cement the alley in rear of office under resolution No. 683-1923, treas. no. 816 . The Board'ape'. rte agreement signed by The Andrews Asphalt Paving Co. , whereby said company agree to do appro d mat ely 4000 square yards of asphalt patching, consisting of binder and surface, on the present concrete foundation on Richmond Avenue ; 1500 square yards of which to be done without cost and the balance of approximately 2500 square yards at 85V per square yard, with the understanding that the city haul the old material away and said company to tear up and load said material in city' s wagons or trucks . Payment to be made in cash upon comple ti on of work'. The Clerk was directed to advertise for bids on Ornamental Lighting Posts and necessary equipment tops' , glassware ,etc ., for lighting system, in South 18th & 21st Streets, from Reeve'ston Road to South "E" Street.
