The Board of Public ;Forks of the City of hichmond , Indiana met in reEu 1Gr ses s io n at the of fi ce of sa id Board Monday July 21st , 1924 , at 9 o clock° A. H. All the members-of said Board , Messrs , Land , 1 and Henley- being present . The following proceedings were had , to-wit o • - • • The Board met to hear all persons interested in, or Those property -is affected under Improvement resolution No. 746 -1924, for the im- provement of the 1st alley north of South "E" Street �-, b�. construe V- ing a cement roadway from South 6th Street east to alley running north & south between South 6th & 7th Street . After hearing all per- sons interested v:ho appeared and being duly advi sed in the premises the Board on motion of Mr. Henley deci de that the benefits to prop-. - erty liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the cost of same 1 and therupon confirm said resolution with out modi fi - cati on. ( estimate city civil engi neer ) The board met to hear all persons interested in, Or whose prop erty is affected under improvement Resolution No. 747 -1924, for the im- prove ment of • North 16th 5tre et , by constructing cement sidewalk on west side of street from North "r ' Street to raver Banks ; Also on east side from North "J" Street to River Bank. After hearing all persons interested who appeared (no one appearing ) The Board decide that the benefits to[err..operty liable to be assessed :for said improve-- - ments are equal to the cost of same as reported by the ci ty civil engineer, and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed :7i-thout modification. The Board met to hear all persons interested in, or whose property is affe cted under Improvement resolution No. 748-1924, for the im-- provement of the alley bete;een South 9th & 10th Street , by construct- ing cement roadway, from South "C" to "B" Street. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised in the prem - is es , the Board decide that the bene fi.is to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the -cost of same as re- ported by the city civil engineer, and thereupon take final action on said resolution, the same being confirmed wi th out modification. The board approved contracts and bonds for improvements under the Improvements Resolutions named a.s follows , to -wit : - The Andrews `asphalt -paving Co. , Improvement .1- esolution No. 736 -1924. John F. Hipskind, contractor under. Improvement Resolution No. 743-1924. Z. B. Pyle & Co . , IT Improvement -resolution No. 742-1924. " E. A. ari.ani , contractor under Improvement Resolutions No' s. 739-1924; 740-1924 ; '744-1924 ; 8- 74519E . The Board grant permission to Frank Pax ell to tap sewer to Lot 45, l!I. & P. Addition on east side of South 15th St . bet. "B" & "C" St. The Board granted pc mission to St. Johns Tuthe rian Church, to cut curb & construct cement driveway in rear of Lot 355 S. ,f.Smith s,Add . on north side of South "E" Street between South 7th & 8th Street. Monday July 21.st , 1924. 11 7 The Board recei ved rids for 750 gallon tri pie pumping engine for use in Fire -Department as follows , to-wit : °T Stutz Fire Engine Company, bid :•� One 750 gal triple combination pumping engine wi th 125 H.P. 11,750 .00 with 5% discount for cash , net price 511, 163 .00.f. o.b. One 750 gal triple combi nation pumping engine wi th 140 H.P. w12, 500.00 5;o discount net price- 11 ,875 .00 f. o .b.•i•ichmond , Ind., sr Ameri can LaFrance Fire Engine C o. , inc.. , bid ; One 750 gal . Triple Combi notion Pumping Engine, Chemical and Base Car in accordance with your speci ficatio ns i 5;12 , 500 .00.00 f. o.b. itichmond_ , Indiana. • 94 The Ahrens--Fox Fire Engi ne Co. ., bid ; One latest improved Ahrens-Fox Triple Combination Automobile Pumping Engine , capacity 750 gal minute, 5�l2 ,850 .00 f. o.b.R1chmond , Indi ana, she Board referred all bids to Fire Chief Miller, for investigation and report 9 after investigating the bids the Fire Chief reported that while the Stutz bid is the lowest , and in view of the servi ce - hereto- fore given by the American LaFrance Fire Engine Co. ,h.e would recom- mend that the City pur chase the 756 gal . minute Triple Combinat ion Pum i.ng` Engi ne Motor driven with booster tank equi pment, as bid on by said American LaFrance Company.
