Thursday July 3rd , 1924.
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,, met
in- regular, session at the office of said Board Thursday July. 3rd,
1924, at 9 o' clock A. M. All the members of said Board Messrs ,
Land, McFai1 and Henley being present . The following proceedi.n-gs

- The- Board- approved the contract & bbnd. of John F. Hipskind, under
- Improvement itesolution No. 737--192-4.
The City Civil Engineer reported the comple tion of' contract under
Improvement Resoluti on No. 717 -192-4, for the improvement of the
alley between South 7th & 8th Street, from South "F" to "G" Street
the Boa, rd accepted' the same and ordered assessment roll prepared. .

• A communication was received from the Jones hardware Co. ,protesting
against the clouds of dust arising from the asphalt. Plant of The
-Andrews asphalt Paving Co. , immediately north of railroad. Mr. Land
stated the matter had been- taken care of by the 1-4ai lroad Co. ,
The Richmond Light , Heat &NPoy�Ter Co. , together with their attorney
- and accountant held a conference Zvi th the Board of Public Works and
City Attorney, in matter of rates to be ask for. Artificial Gas,after
November 1st, 1924, and filed with the City a summary statement of
their accountant Benjamin Perke, setting forth the basis for pro-
posed artificial gas rate of1.40` net per 1,000 cubic feet . fixing
the value of said plant at 4;950,000 .00, and stati.ng .the company is
- entitled to a gross revenue of 9261 ,800 .00 - from the sale of gas.
The 'Board ordered said statement placed on file . .
The Board throw out all bids heretofore received for a 750 gallon
- tri pie combination pumping engine, and directed the Clerk to ,re--
advertise for bids,, to be received July 21st ; 1924.
The Board approved the various payrolls up to July . 1st, 1924.
- Claims, in the amount of i; 11 ,943.06 were allowed & ordered paid.
The Board then adjourned,
